Tom and Bethany may very well be one of the kindest couples I know. We’ve only spent a few occasions together- a meeting or two, an engagement session, their wedding and then shared a lovely winter dinner last year at Cafe Luna in Placerville. So I guess one could surmise that I really don’t know them that well. How could you after only a few times? That’s the funny thing about my job. Weddings are of course, very personal. Spending a day with a couple on one of the most important days of their lives, meeting family and friends and hearing both the couple and family speak about their love really gives so much insight into the character of a person, of a couple- it’s like a crash course in “them”. I’ve read that a successful photographer can give a viewer of an image “a look into their souls”. As a photographer you are always looking for that and for that flow that helps create that. My friend David Delp who also designed my website, wrote an article on “flow” on his new blog “Pilot Fire”– I think he is creative, intuitive and smart so check it out! If you are lucky enough on occasion to find flow or perhaps reach flow- it’s a pretty addicting place to be, at least for me.
Let me just say this, if you met Tom and Bethany you would probably think the same thing. They have this cloud of warmth, compassion, comfortability, humor and love that surrounds them. It makes me smile. It is contagious.
I wish much love to you all on celebrating your 2nd wedding anniversary and for trusting me to capture it all for you. I’m grateful for our shoots as I always leave having felt that I have experienced your warmth and energy and the “flow”. Here is a song I heard while editing your session that thought the mood of it was just right for a slideshow of your session! Enjoy!
