What a fun and playful session this was!
Kellie told me that she and her family wanted their photos taken playing in the snow. In February the white fluffy stuff isn’t normally hard to come by but not so this year. So, it took a bit of searching through up-country to find the setting we needed. We drove up Iron Mountain Road, which snakes between the 50 and the 88, parked and walked in until I found some truly gorgeous light coming through the trees. Ahhhh… I’m so lucky to work in such a beautiful area!
Unfortunately, along with the picture-perfect setting came more of a temperature drop than the family’s dog, Harlie, bargained for. Both Harlie and little Roan were shivering within minutes. Thankfully, my assistant, Shelley, was on-hand to share her gloves. It also didn’t stop Roan from showering all of us with snow! An attempt at snow-angels lasted about two seconds, however, before we had to get back to the car for a change of clothes.
Thanks to my friend, Connie, for referring this fun family to me. We had a great time and I found a new, favorite spot for photos at any time of year. I just love how being a photographer can make you a tourist in your own back yard.
