  • I have been photographing the Gray family since this shot above from Emigrant Trail pre-school(2005 ish?) and Catie still has alot to say! Watching these kids grow up and participate in school events alongside my own kids in our small community has been a rewarding experience. Who knew what their passions would be back when this photo was taken. Catie’s passion is all things art. She plays piano, guitar, ukulele, flute, accordion, percussion. She has been singing since she was two and loves musical theater after her first visit to see Wicked at age of 6. Her mom and my…

  • A few years back I photographed Jack’s sister, Grace and made an easy connection with their mom, Pam. Jack is the middle child at the Harrison household and I was honored to get Pam’s request earlier this year to schedule a senior session for him. Jack attends Union Mine and will graduate this May. He’s passionate about civil rights and likes to discuss history, politics and current events. I turned both of them onto Heather Cox Richardson, a historian, professor and writer. I thought they too might enjoy her current news digest and historical insights. Jack also enjoys music and…

  • And there really is something about Meg. She’s an easy going, sweet and vibrant high school senior. She’s also president of the Union Mine drama club. Her college application was just submitted for early decision to Dartmouth because well, she knows what she wants and where she wants to be. Love a girl like that! My session with Meg had her adoring Mama taking it all in while we both enjoyed being serenaded, hill top, by Meg… “somewhere, over the rainbow”…..a session with a soundtrack. YES! Singing really allowed me to see Meg and allowed Meg to be in her…

  • Zoie. Vivacious, fun, spunky, (my neighbor) and such a beautiful young lady. Currently a high school senior at Union Mine in El Dorado, CA playing on the basketball team, working for the infamous and adored, John Sanders at the Old Town Grill in Placerville and looking forward to graduating this coming May. After graduation Zoie plans to become a paramedic because she “wants to help people who really need it” and “doesn’t want people to go through trauma if she can help it”. LOVE her heart. In her spare time she likes to read, ride motor cross and hang out…

  • Somehow it doesn’t surprise me that when I posted a few of Jack’s senior photographs to Facebook, they were auto-tagged using Bob(Jack’s dad) in the face recognition. They do look quite a bit alike. Actually, I see alot of Kim(Jack’s mom) in there too, in his eyes. I tell you, what does surprise me is that this 3 month old baby I first met over seventeen years ago when we moved to Pollock Pines, is ready to walk across the El Dorado High School stage donning his royal blue cap and gown, and on his way to Montana State University…

  • I’ve known the McVey’s since we moved here about seventeen years ago. I’ve photographed their kids on and off since then. We are almost neighbors as we reside on the same side of Hwy 50. That’s mountain talk. Their son Keegan went off to college a few years ago and I got to capture that milestone for them. This year it was Caitlin’s turn. Eclectic, artistic and an introvert, I enjoyed playing in the light with her and her funky style. She was kind and gracious and allowed me the honor of getting to know her adult self a little…

  • Getting out in the field, literally, with Emma was enjoyable for me. She came to me referred by some of her other really cool friends, so I knew I was in for a great session. The field and rock formations behind her home made for a great backdrop with her ukelele, her birks, her doggie and her beautiful smile. As you can see in the way that she holds herself with such grace and a peaceful strength, Emma is a dancer. In fact, we had to squeeze her senior session in between her daytime Charter University Prep classes and her…

  • Senior Photographs, Spring 2017 High school graduation: that incomparably magical time of life when one story ends and another begins. When the known security of childhood is still large in the rear mirror and yet the unknown but exciting future of adulthood is within grasp. That time when you’re so full of energy and life and hope and plans and dreams… and it’s all bursting through your very seams. There’s no way around it, this is a milestone that comes around only once. And, like all of life’s important moments, you’ll want to press pause for a moment to capture…
