  • The Haffners’ are one of those families that everyone seems to know here in the Pollock/Camino area. I had the pleasure of both meeting them and photographing them a few years ago for their 20th wedding anniversary, and this time it was not only time for another family session, but also Colby’s senior session. We met up at Sly Park Lake on what turned out to be a burn day (that’s mountain talk for smokey), but we used it to our advantage and got some awesome shots of Colby emerging from the smoke and sun flare on his bike. It…

  • One of my favorite parts about doing extended family sessions is getting to watch and capture how the whole family interacts. Cousins hanging out, grandparents interacting with their grandchildren, parents “working” their young children for natural expressions….and knowing that I am capturing a moment in time for this family that will be forever a part of their family history. I met up with the Tyack family for their extended family session at Sly Park Lake. The air was crisp, the light was beautiful and I couldn’t have asked for a better evening for this session. The kids and adults skipped…

  • I’ve been photographing the Anderson family for close to a decade now, and I was excited to hear that with family visiting from out of state it was time for an extended family session. We all met up at Sly Park Lake and found a beautiful field of flowers to work in. The kids had a blast running around, sword fighting with sticks, and just being kids. I love connecting with clients each year for their annual family portraits, and being able to capture big family gatherings like this. Thanks to second shooter, Anna Vollmer!

  • Kate and Evan first met here at Sly Park Lake, so of course it was the perfect place for their engagement session. They were both hired on a few years ago for the summer. He was in college, she was going off to college, so she asked him for any advice he could give and the rest is history. I’m looking forward to their Sierra Banquet Center wedding in early May as I have not yet photographed a wedding there. Dottie from Camino Flower Shop will be doing flowers too! I love how engagement sessions give me a chance to…

  • Marysue and Ty helped us buy our first home about 10 years ago. If you are in need of some real estate help, we loved working with them. Contact them here at Coldwell Banker,  I can personally recommend them. As soon as Marysue contacted me I was excited to do whatever I could to help them out. They were playing host for all of Marysue’s brothers and sisters to celebrate their dad, Grandpa Boumann’s,  90th birthday. This sounds like a relatively easy task, just hosting a family birthday party right? That is until you hear that Marysue has 3 brothers and…

  • John & Elisha are getting married on July 10, 2010 at the beautiful Fausel Ranch in Placerville, CA. They were referred to me from Gretchen & Matt‘s wedding last August at Fausel last year (apparently they have a groomsman in common). John and Elisha make each other laugh and truly have a zest for enjoying life. John brought along his 13 year old daughter Maddie as well as Trixie, their Pitbull/Boxer mix dog! Trixie and Maddie were fun additions to the shoot not only because of the dogs inate ability to make everyone laugh and feel relaxed but also because…

  • Chris & Karissa were such a fun couple to shoot – so natural with each other. They were playful, funny, comfortable and “awkward”.. which is a good thing for Chris.. according to Karissa. (haha!) They “met” at a bar while hanging out with mutual friends in Tahoe during 4th of July weekend a few years ago. Chris was too shy to ‘put the moves’ on Karissa that night, but later he found her on Myspace and they started to talk. He invited Karissa to Hot August Nights in Reno a couple months later and I asked “So was it a…

  • David and Beth have been together for 9 years and have been engaged for 1 1/2 years! Beth is an accountant for her family owned business Dixon&Dixon in Pollock Pines and David owns his own small software company. They both love the outdoors and doing outdoor activities such as hiking and kayaking. In fact, the day before their wedding David and his grooms men are going on a kayaking and camping trip to Emerald Bay and coming back early in the morning on the day of the wedding! Not the common bachelors party , but I think it sounds better!…
