I had such a great time in San Francisco capturing some of the life that is now Lisa, Dave and Ramona’s to share! I lived in SF for a few years before moving to the East Bay back in the late 80’s early 90’s and I enjoyed being in some of my old neighborhoods. For my first shoot of the year I picked up my assistant Cassie and we headed down to San Francisco for the weekend. We met Emily and Shannon near their apartment in the Mission. Up until a couple days before the session, it was set to be a fabulous and sunny San Francisco afternoon. I had envisioned the sun casting its late light on the SF skyline. To be perfectly honest… I am always a bit nervous when I shoot another photographer (Jason Tanaka), but after hanging out with Sumer and Jason that quickly went away. We met at Baker Beach in San Francisco. It’s an awesome location in the city because it has a bit of everything…the beach, a view of part of the city, an old bunker for a bit of that urban style, and an awesome view of the Golden Gate Bridge. Throughout the session we worked our way down the beach, and managed to beat a night-time photography class to the far end…

Lauren and Karl were referred to me by my friend Sharon who was referred to me by my friend Renee. I think Renee found one of my flyers at the winery where she worked at the time. Lauren and Karl seemed to be in the spirit of most of my referrals- happy, loving life and ready for anything. I love that! Most of the time, I meet all my couples prior to their booking me for their wedding. Because they live in San Francisco, I had not met Melissa and Ryan until we landed in the parking lot at Baker Beach to start their engagement session. It didn’t matter- We all had a great time getting to know each other while taking advantage of the amazing light on the Golden Gate Bridge.
