  • Trevor & Brielle were married at “The House on the Hill”, the home of Brielle’s parents, Irene and Alan in Greenstone. They have all been working very hard since January to get ready for the wedding not to mention a complete home landscaping, patio building and gazebo raising (what doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger…right?) June 19 was a warm and breezy day. We all knew how lucky we were that the temperature was around 80, when it could have so easily been 100+ degrees. My assistant Cassie and my friend Jaime from Rose Street Studio were helping me out…

  • Thank goodness for late starts to summer. This amazing June 5 wedding at Avio Vineyards in Sutter Creek, California could have been a scorcher but as it turned out the weather was perfect (ok, well, a little hot if you are running around in it with alot of gear), but nice for Sutter Creek in June and Cassie and I were grateful! Amongst family and friends, Chris and Karissa exchanges their vows. They also wrote notes for each other which they put away to read on their first anniversary. Since I first met them a year ago, I was moved…

  • Kim, Vern & their kids all showed up to The Sequoia in a big party bus and basically already had their party started! They were relaxed and easy going. The weather was perfect and everything was going just as planned. The reception room was stunning & the dessert bar was fab! Tawnia at the Sequoia is so great to work with and casually keeps everything in the perfect flow. At one point while I was hunkered down near the floor for a shot, she mentioned that I should wear a reflector stripe in all my black clothing so she could…

  • Outdoor spring weddings are tough to plan and to nail weather-wise around here. It is a bit of a crap shoot. I know this of course because I got married in the pouring rain (May 6, 2000) in Amador county not to mention my experiences with spring weddings in this area. Vivian and Eric hit the jack pot, not only with each other but with what was the most beautiful spring day so far. Viv and Eric were so easy to work with and so mellow- a really great way to kick off the wedding season. They both work for…

  • Real Weddings is a Sacramento based magazine that has featured two of my weddings. The Issue that is out right now (Winter 2010) has an editorial about Nicole & Treb’s wedding – a couple whom I photographed at the Citizen Hotel in Sacramento this summer where their wedding was held. Here is a link to their online article which includes more photographs. Go grab a magazine and check it out !

  • Carissa and Nick got married on a brisk day just before winter hit “full on” in Pollock Pines. They chose the Sierra Springs Clubhouse for their celebration and surrounded themselves with family and friends. What a beautiful location! Stunning trees, fields, fall colors…. I started shooting just before the ceremony and was able to capture Nick and the groomsmen as well as Carissa walking up the path outside with her dad. Carissa and Nick enjoyed a quick taste of champagne outside alone after their ceremony before rushing inside due to the brisk weather. The shooting continued through the first dance…

  • Amy contacted me back in June because she was planning her wedding. She had been recommended by several past brides as well as Dottie (my buddie:) from Camino Flower Shop and Deanna at their future venue. I love shooting at Fausel Ranch and working with Deanna! Bryan, Amy’s fiancee works for CAL FIRE and after several scheduling attempts we were able to plan a lovely fall session at Boeger Winery. Two lovely people for sure- very easy going and excited about their upcoming wedding. The weather couldn’t have been more perfect- glowing late fall colors and a warm fall day. …

  • Giang and David got married at the Sainte Claire Hotel in San Jose. I spend alot of time shooting weddings at wineries, forested locations, and farms that I found the urban landscape of San Jose to be quite refreshing! Lots of compositional lines! Thanks to Jillian Kay for second shooting with me and to Cassie for assisting(and shooting a little too!) Having them both there to depend upon allowed me alot of mental freedom during a very busy day 🙂 The wedding ceremony was a mix between American and traditional Vietnamese. A unique and beautiful part of the ceremony included…

  • Sara’s father Charlie Ferris is currently my youngest daughter Ember’s kindergarten teacher, was my oldest daughter Jaz’s kindergarten teacher two years ago and was also my assistant Cassie’s older brother’s kindergarten teacher.. 22 years ago! I adore Charlie & now I also adore his fantastic daughter Sara and her new husband Sean. I had asked Sean to describe Sara in one adjective and he quickly responded “Wonderful.” I then asked him for a second adjective & he replied “Compassionate, wise, understanding, beautiful..” – Anyone can tell that Sara and Sean are crazy about each other. They are alot of fun…
