  • I love these two (well 4, maybe 5, I guess) and am grateful for our annual sessions. I met up with Madison, Hailey, Willy and Wildfire…oh, and Ace, Madison’s steer, last week at their place. We planned for a mini session which for me is about 30 minutes. We rescheduled a few times due to the weather which I am always happy to do. Look at them, they are so grown up now! Look at how cute they are here: https://www.lisarichmondphotography.com/blog/madison-hailey-2-horses-and-a-monkey/ Growing like weeds. Happy Holidays to you all and thank you- enjoy your photographs. • I love a family that rallies and the Seelos family was no exception. As it is with most family sessions around the holidays, there isn’t much option for rescheduling around the weather with so many schedules and traveling distances involved. Becky knew she wanted to capture these moments in time and she rallied her crew together on her father’s property. As we all know, these moments pass by so quickly and it’s important to capture them exactly as they are….maybe a little wet, a little cold, a little tired and for little Parker, just a wee bit hungry. A great…

  • “And we are starting a new life” was the title of the first photo session blog post that I did with the Skalos family. It’s also the lyric to a great Van Morrison song. At that time the Skalos family were new to Pollock Pines and wanted to document their family. Claire (bear) was a toddler and Ava was a big bump in Shannon’s belly (see the log of posts at the bottom of this one). That was in March of 2022. Over the next 2.5 years, I captured not only Ava’s first year but also their growing family. This…

  • Curious little one-year-old Jaxon, with the cute, energetic smile spent some time with me in one of my favorite locations cruising around like a pro in the forest with mom and dad, Frances and Bobby who just moved to the area from Carmicheal. Jaxon even learned the word “tree” (‘twee”) as he held a branch from a local species backlit in the sun. Also joining in on the fun was Great Grandma Alice who had been staying with them for several months but would be moving across the country soon.  It was the perfect time to capture some memories. Welcome…

  • I was happy to get a chance to meet up with the Fleming family again this year. Their family has grown by one since last year with the addition of cute, little Jackson. We met in Apple Hill at the beautiful Larsen’s Apple Barn Park in Camino. Georgia was one of my pre-schoolers when I photographed them at Pinetop Montessori. My daughter Ember who also loves kids, joined us on the session and Georgia connected with her right away. There is so much love in this family- such a pleasure to capture it! Thanks Diana and George!

  • It was one of those sunny, golden fall afternoons that make me pinch myself: not only do I get to live in the beautiful Sierra Nevada mountains, but I also get to follow happy families around while they enjoy the outdoors, trading jokes and snapping photos.  (And I call this “work?”  Ha!)  With the loving, energetic, incredibly photogenic Jen family as my clients and a bright blue sky overhead, it was a great day at the office for sure. The Jen sisters are close in age and also very close to each other.  Watching them goof around was so much fun and…

  • The Bartolo Family- With their youngest in Philadelphia embarking on the first year of her college adventure, Jim and Tammy decided that it is finally time to downsize and sell their beautiful home in Pollock Pines, that Jim actually built. There’s a lot of love in that home. And, with all of the girls and grandma Josephine in town and available over the holidays, it was a perfect time to capture them all in their home, the home they all grew up in (even Jim…ehhh, maybe not- likely still working on it). And I can say that because I’ve known the Bartolo’s for awhile so…

  • Ahhh, what a wonderful family to photograph right here in my own back yard. The Lockwoods have emerged from a tough year where mom, Renee, was very sick for an extended period last year. Illness can take such a toll on relationships but I could tell that everyone was in a place of gratitude, celebrating Renee’s recovery and the gift of time together. Getting to spend some time with one another by the lake, a place that is at the heart of our community here – embodying everything we love about Pollock Pines’ beautiful, outdoor lifestyle – was clearly something…
