  • Outdoor spring weddings are tough to plan and to nail weather-wise around here. It is a bit of a crap shoot. I know this of course because I got married in the pouring rain (May 6, 2000) in Amador county not to mention my experiences with spring weddings in this area. Vivian and Eric hit the jack pot, not only with each other but with what was the most beautiful spring day so far. Viv and Eric were so easy to work with and so mellow- a really great way to kick off the wedding season. They both work for…

  • What can I say – I love these guys! I feel like I have known Tony and Tara forever but it really has only been since their wedding in 2007. When Tara was pregnant with Zoe, they invested in a baby package which includes a minimum of 3 shoots over the course of Zoe’s first year and a super cool custom designed Baby Brag Book album which is a picture story documenting her first year! Zoe is such happy baby- just full of bright-eyed smiles- I think she only got sad once at the end of the session- she was…

  • This year my friend Kristi (Shotgun Photography) and I photographed each others family for holiday photographs. Here are the photos I took of her family last week at Boeger…What I can’t get over is last week it was fall…and now this week it is full blown winter. If any of you know Kristi, she is such a generous soul and a fantastic mom to boot! I think my daughter Ember would like to marry her son Nick some day but I hear there is a line! Enjoy girlfriend ~ no crying…ok?

  • Amy contacted me back in June because she was planning her wedding. She had been recommended by several past brides as well as Dottie (my buddie:) from Camino Flower Shop and Deanna at their future venue. I love shooting at Fausel Ranch and working with Deanna! Bryan, Amy’s fiancee works for CAL FIRE and after several scheduling attempts we were able to plan a lovely fall session at Boeger Winery. Two lovely people for sure- very easy going and excited about their upcoming wedding. The weather couldn’t have been more perfect- glowing late fall colors and a warm fall day. …

  • October is a big month for the Child family and their offspring. Diane and John Child celebrate their 38th wedding anniversary this week. They have four children Justin, Vanessa, Amy and Emily. I think that they all also celebrate their wedding anniversaries in October. I was fortunate to meet this super fun and kind family while photographing both Emily and Amy’s weddings over the years. Diane and John now also have 4 grandchildren all between the ages of 1 and 2. Their kids purchased them an “extended family session” last Christmas for a gift. Diane loves the fall so we…

  • When I arrived David Girard Vineyards I could see it was prime grape picking time… thick bunches of grapes hung from the bright green vines that covered the property. I first shot the groom and his 10 groomsmen in the vines & (up) and around the ceremony area. You get eleven guys together, and well, let’s just say that the energy goes to “eleven”, pretty quickly! Those guys kept cracking jokes left and right- clearly ready for a fun day! Next were the ladies! Ashley and her 9 bridesmaids looked stunning. Their flowers were bright and beautiful from Katie Edwards…

  • Well, apparently Gretchen loves pink! (you think?) After a wonderful engagement session up in high country I knew this wedding was going to be a fun one. Gretchen and Matt decided to see each other before the wedding. This can be a really nice way to go and can really cut down on the time needed to take photographs after the wedding. It gets you to your reception faster! However, the best part is, that they get to see each other all dressed and ready to go (almost in private) and then have a few quiet moments with each other…

  • Finn’s mom called me after seeing the Jones’ photographs over at Lava Cap. Her son, Finn would graduate this year and she wanted to also get a few with her older son Taven in them before he left for school again in Montana. When I arrived at Lava Cap for the shoot, Finn was wearing a Grateful Dead shirt and was very surprised that I knew the song that his shirt promoted, “Till the Morning Comes”. I told him that I had been to something like 120 Dead shows, back in the day. I knew we were going to have…

  • Molly and Andrew were guests at Jorden and Becky’s wedding that I shot back in October ’07. When Molly contacted me about her wedding, I knew it was going to be a fun one. Not only did she love photography and knew it was important to her and Andrew on their wedding day, her groom, Andrew spent many years growing up just down the road from my home- Andrew’s parents are my neighbors! Our day started off up the street (gotta love that commute) and their wedding location was at Molly’s fathers home in Placerville; a beautiful home, with stunning…
