  • Photographing a photographer; what a joy- two creative souls working toward a common end. And then the nerves of being watched. Hard to avoid those self judgements (“she must think I am crazy”).  I think Ashlynn and I both had nerves (for about 2 minutes) but that instantly dissipated into a creative jam session out in the field, me behind the camera and her in front. We were on a roll, we couldn’t stop and it was SO much fun. I LIVE FOR THAT FLOW! I’m not sure anything feels better than being in “the flow”. Working with Ashlynn was…

  • Taking advantage of this yo yo-ing weather, I headed out to Boeger Winery with my friend Summer and her family. I think it may have even snowed the day before and perhaps even the day after. But this was a beautiful fall day(other than the growth cycle at Boeger was clearly in winter mode). I had a great time as the Mulhollen family likes to have fun and if you know them, you know what I mean. With young kids, I like to keep my sessions moving from location to location to help keep expressions natural and fresh. I love…

  • Welcome to Placerville, Action Potential. Jessica, Jen and Joy are ready to help you reach your fitness goals- just give them a call (530-303-3083) or better yet, check out their Grand Opening on March 16 from 5-8pm(1973 Smith Flat Road). It’s a great space energized by some great ladies and even boasts an enclosed outdoor area for training in the sunshine- what’s not to love about that? Most of you who know me know that I am not only a big supporter of small business, and especially when women are out there making it happen, but I am also an…

  • I met Amy and Ryan as they were on their way back from a weekend trip to Tahoe. They had just dropped the kids off for pizza, and managed to get away for a bit to celebrate just the two of them. Neither one had a problem being in front of the camera. I loved how playful they were, giving piggy-back rides, jumping, and making faces at each other. At the end of the session we headed in to the wine tasting room at Boeger Winery for a bit of wine for ourselves. Thank you Amy and Ryan, looking forward…

  • Jessica flew in from Colorado to celebrate her mother’s 60th birthday with her sister. Everyone thought it was an excellent time for a family session with mom and her two girls. It was a misty and rainy day but we managed to find a break in the weather. I imagine all of them are still cleaning mud off their heels! Looks like you all had a fun day and how great to have photographs to remember it by! Thank you all and thanks to Lori Warden for assisting me on this shoot! Your entire gallery will be up in another…

  • Alyssa’s senior shoot started out at a new location for me. The Cozmic Cafe in Placerville- I love that building- so much character! I also love new locations…it allows me the opportunity to think on my feet and also creatively as I work out a new spot and its’ light. Alyssa is a singer, and we had the opportunity to borrow their stage for a bit. It made for some fun portraits, and I even got Alyssa to sing for me for most of them. What a beautiful voice she has! After we finished with the stage, we headed up…

  • I met Caity about 6 years ago through a mutual friend. She is local to our home in Pollock Pines and used to do some babysitting for us !  Ya see, when you don’t have parents that live nearby, you get to meet alot of 11-14 year olds looking for a little extra income. Courtney, her mom asked me to join the Chamber of Commerce recently so I was glad when she called to have me photograph her daughter’s senior photographs. We did a slightly longer session to incorporate some images of the two of them as well as some…

  • Even a week before a wedding, an engagement session still has so many benefits. I got to meet Albert and Melissa and see how they are as a couple outside of what sometimes can be wedding day craziness. We got to go sit out in the dirt with the farm animals at Fausel Ranch. And as a bonus, I got to see my friend Deanna the owner and coordinator at Fausel Ranch who is also just happens to be Albert’s mom…not to mention I left with a case of peaches that were amazing, thanks Fausels- you always take such good care…
