It was about a week before Christmas and I had just purchased a brand-spanking-new Nikon camera and had a big family session planned for the weekend. The Gray Family. There are many kind people in this town that I have called home for over 17 years, and the Gray family definitely comes in at the top of that list. I had a chance to meet the Kenoyer Family on a most glorious and sunny day in Apple Hill. Mary and Jason set the kids free in Larsen’s Apple Barn Park and off they went; running, playing and goofing around like kids do, sometimes with shoes and sometimes without. When you spend 8 years photographing a family – from engagement to wedding, followed by the birth of their children and all the milestones in between – it is intensely bittersweet to photograph them one last time, in their homecourt playground in the Sierra Nevadas before they move on to new life adventures. It’s never too late to take senior photos – it still counts, even if you already have a year of college under your belt.  Because senior photos are not about what age you are on the calendar, but what place you have graduated to in your heart. Ahhh, Simone.  Even her name is graceful!  Just like the lovely dancer that she is, Simone exudes a delicate beauty and poise that takes my breath away.
