Well sorta….it was two Gray sessions in one weekend. We just split one session up….first was an early morning with Jack at the Cameron Park Airport before his flying lesson (really what teenagers want a family session at 7:30am?) and then the next afternoon I met the whole family at a more reasonable hour at Sly Park Lake. There’s so much love in and around this family- it’s always a pleasure. The love seeps in to those around. Melinda and I just determined that it has been since 2005 ish that we’ve known each other as our kids went through school…

Quick- we have power, we have internet! Upload, upload, upload images, run laundry, run the dishwasher GO!  You think I’m kidding? That’s the reality around here at the moment…how long will we have power? No one knows. The last time I got to photograph the Valdez family we were at Sierra at Tahoe and along with my “sherpa” husband, we chased them around the snow slopes making captures of their favorite winter sport together. This time around, instead of a winter theme, we went with fall…because fall is really the best around here and you don’t even need any power…

I got a chance to reconnect with the Heather family at their new home in Camino earlier this month. Well, then insert a couple power outages and a mean flu-like illness for over a week and I am just getting to these images that made my heart smile the whole time I was capturing them. Alex and Matt married just over 7 years ago at Fausel Ranch in Placerville and I was there to capture their wedding day celebration. It was a memorable day for me as their wedding party was comprised of two other couples who I had also photographed weddings of recently. It’s the kind of connection that makes a wedding day that much easier for any photographer. It was a celebration, a reunion of sorts and a big ol’ dance party! Sweet Miss Madilynn was just about 6 months old and Mom and Dad decided it was time to capture this moment in time. Not quite sitting on her own yet, Dad decided to take her flying….LOL (see below).
