Entering the room where Ryan & his Groomsmen were getting ready, there was music playing, the TV was on, beers were open & the guys were kickin ‘back, relaxing & slowly getting themselves ready for the wedding after just coming back from the pool.  Ryan was busy helping his groomsmen get their ties and boutonnieres on properly. While on the other end of the Inn, Melissa was getting her hair done, her makeup put on and covering the  last few details of their wedding to make sure their big day went smooth as ice (ahhhhh nice cold and cool ice).…

Well, apparently Gretchen loves pink! (you think?) After a wonderful engagement session up in high country I knew this wedding was going to be a fun one. Gretchen and Matt decided to see each other before the wedding. This can be a really nice way to go and can really cut down on the time needed to take photographs after the wedding. It gets you to your reception faster! However, the best part is, that they get to see each other all dressed and ready to go (almost in private) and then have a few quiet moments with each other…

Finn’s mom called me after seeing the Jones’ photographs over at Lava Cap. Her son, Finn would graduate this year and she wanted to also get a few with her older son Taven in them before he left for school again in Montana. When I arrived at Lava Cap for the shoot, Finn was wearing a Grateful Dead shirt and was very surprised that I knew the song that his shirt promoted, “Till the Morning Comes”. I told him that I had been to something like 120 Dead shows, back in the day. I knew we were going to have…

Bassi Falls is such a great place. My kids love it! When the water fall is really flowing there are tons of little pools to swim in and explore. Plus, it is only a 15 minute hike(about 25-30 with the kids), so very do-able for young ones! Last Monday, we all headed out to spend some time enjoying this beautiful part of the country we live in. (Glad we finally found it- LOL) Sean and Sara have been dating for ten years…”altogether”. You can tell by the way they are with each other that they know each other really well…and…

I always feel lucky to love the job that I have. On this particular day I felt even more lucky…Gretchen and Matt picked up me and Kristi (who offered to help me with the shoot) to head up to high country. Matt’s family has this most amazing property off of Ice House Road (have I mentioned that it is amazing?) WOW! The air was crisp, the sunlight was warm and clear and it was the perfect chance to get to know Gretchen and Matt (and Bee, one of the sweetest most mellow 2.5 year old dogs I have ever known)…

Earlier this year I went to San Fransisco to shoot Karl & Lauren’s engagement session and it was typical SF weather- foggy, raining, and misty but I was pleased that the weather didn’t keep them from the shoot and they were probably equally pleased that I didn’t mind getting my gear wet for their shoot! We all enjoyed ourselves running around like Golden Retrievers on the beach! Karl & Lauren held their wedding in the Redwood Grove on the UC Berkeley campus and had their reception right across the street at the Botanical Garden; both places were amazing and beautiful!…

Molly and Andrew were guests at Jorden and Becky’s wedding that I shot back in October ’07. When Molly contacted me about her wedding, I knew it was going to be a fun one. Not only did she love photography and knew it was important to her and Andrew on their wedding day, her groom, Andrew spent many years growing up just down the road from my home- Andrew’s parents are my neighbors! Nicole and Treb had to change their wedding venue midway through their plans as their original venue seemed to be going out of business(accent on “seemed” which is not a great feeling for a couple who were planning a very large wedding). Shift forward to the Citizen Hotel in downtown Sacramento and one starts to wonder if it was meant to be. A gorgeous, classy and modern hotel with a flavor of politics added in due to it’s location and tremendous views of the Capital. We had such a great time exploring all the nooks and crannies and fabulous decor…

I shot Tony & Tara’s wedding back in February of 2007. It is “the best” to be able to photograph a couples wedding and then photograph their next steps in life – like this one. Pretty soon I’m going to meet the next generation “Little”, ~Zoe Little~ ! Zoe’s due date is August 29th and there is no doubt in my mind that Tony & Tara are going to be the greatest parents! Congratulations Tony and Tara!
