  • I woke up for a sunrise shoot for Amy and Ryan. Just sayin’. If you know me, this is rare. I am a night owl. I shoot the late afternoon light as much as I can. Since Amy and Ryan are a couple who are game for anything- I was too! This was the final of three Tahoe shoots I had that weekend and a great way to start the day(along with the cup of coffee I started the hike with:)  Since I usually shoot in the evening- it was bizarre to have the light increase as we went along…

  • When it’s right it’s right. Instantly we were all having a blast enjoying the great outdoors of Lake Tahoe. Kim and Sean are vibrant, warm and athletic and I was so excited for their paddle board session. Our plan was to use Donner Lake “proper” but the wind was howling that day which sent us to a small inlet behind Donner Lake. I’m looking forward to their August Truckee wedding! Special thanks Amanda Bremmer for all of your help with this one! Enjoy your SLIDESHOW

  • Love is in the air as it always seems to be at Fausel Ranch! This time I was photographing Mark and Sharlot for their engagement photos. These two are so comfortable with each other and comfortable with the ranch, as they should be. Mark just happens to be Deanna Fausel’s brother. Which was perfect! He was creatively moving around props helping me make the perfect settings for their engagement shoot. But with Sharlot’s beauty (inside and out) who would care what the background was. The two of them together are captivating and I enjoyed every minute of photographing you both.…

  • Amy and Ryan’s big day was set on the beautiful grounds of the Wine and Roses Hotel in Lodi. Every detail from the flower arrangements on each table to the coordinating shirts of the little guys, groom, and groomsmen was thought through. Everyone, especially their boys loved the party atmosphere. There’s a lot of behind the scenes teamwork that goes into a wedding. Vendors communicating with each other, ironing shirts at the last minute,  pinning on boutonnieres, etc, all with the goal of trying to keep the day running as smoothly as possible for the Bride and Groom. Big Thanks…

  • I was so excited to hear that Brett and Erin were getting married, and honored that they chose me to be their photographer. I shot her sister Courtney’s  wedding last year, and was thrilled to get to work with their family again. This is just one of those families you never forget…in a good and warm way; kind, generous, joyful AND FUN. Many thanks to my past wedding clients, Jenn and Jeff, guests at both weddings, for their referral and for just knowing how we’d hit it off! We started out the day in Folsom where Erin and Brett got…

  • Karen and Erin met while working in Northern California as Archeologists and the rest is history.  The two are looking forward to their August wedding at the High Sierra Iris and Wedding Gardens in Camino. Since the iris won’t be in bloom in August we felt it only fitting to capture the two of them with the iris in Coloma as they are blooming now.  I can’t wait until your big day in August.  Until then enjoy your pictures. • I’ve been running into Matt alot on the “wedding circuit”.  First at Matt and Gretchen’s Fausel Ranch Wedding and then at Elisha and John’s Fausel Ranch Wedding. In fact, at Elisha and John’s wedding, he met Alex, who was a bridesmaid for Elisha. I remember taking a photograph of her looking at Elisha’s dress…. I know it is hard to keep up with but at the end of June I will get to photograph their wedding at Fausel Ranch(one of my favorite spots) while 2 of my past brides(Gretchen and Elisha- who will also both be very pregnant) stand by…

  • I love a man with a good sense of humor, and Jenn, you’ve got him. Dan kept us cracking up for the entire shoot. These two love the outdoors, which made the riverside location they chose perfect for the two of them. The entire shoot I felt like at any moment the heavens were going to open and it was going to start pouring on us, but Jenn and Dan must have better luck than I do because it never rained harder than a sprinkle. I can’t wait to see what these two have in store for their fall wedding…

  • I love engagement sessions and am happy to be moving back into the season for them. As a photographer- not only do I get to know the couple I will work with better as we earn a trust between each other- but it is also “no pressure shooting”…it’s a creative flow that you trust and follow without any wedding day pressure or schedules. Weddings have a certain flow to them, an almost routine-like schedule that has to be followed in order to make sure all the bases are covered. Engagement sessions on the other hand are a whole different story.…
