I was so excited when Cherise and Chris chose me to document their 3-day camping wedding in Los Gatos. The whole weekend had an air of an intimate family reunion.  They started with a welcome party on Friday night as everyone was arriving. Great food (thanks Joshua Charles Catering) and laughter warmed the evening as everyone checked out what each other had written on the cool, custom designed response cards; it was the perfect way to start the weekend. I had the chance to meet up with Sandi and Terry Friday night at Larsens Park in Camino. Sandi was Jaz’s second grade teacher. Jaz loved her- and so did we. We gave this session to her as an end of the year thank you gift. The light was beautiful, and so were these two! Thank you Sandi for making Jaz’s year in second grade such a fantastic one!

The reception tables were named after the things that join them ( single track, high places, and river play) and covered in beautiful wildflower arrangements. Their unique vows to each other included their desire for a family that loves the outdoors and adventure.

David has been home schooled his whole life along with his older sister and brother Michelle & Daniel. David is the last of the Carlson kids that I get to photograph senior pictures for. He just graduated this year and plans on going to Folsom Lake for a couple of terms to figure out what he’d like to do in life. I like the way kids use college these days to sort stuff out rather than feel like they have to know what they will do for the rest of their life at eighteen years old. Well, the last day of school has come and gone (again) and summer is now upon us. This year was bitter sweet as we wished many well who were retiring this year from Pinewood Elementary School. I arrived that day with the goal of documenting the last day of one teacher in particular, Charlie Ferris.  Charlie’s teaching career spanned 36 years, 24 of which were teaching kindergarten at Pinewood. It would be easy to underestimate Charlie with his calm demeanor, but as the saying goes: “still waters run deep”.  And it is a good thing given how many of us…

Kim, Vern & their kids all showed up to The Sequoia in a big party bus and basically already had their party started! They were relaxed and easy going. The weather was perfect and everything was going just as planned. The reception room was stunning & the dessert bar was fab!
