  • I think the Little Family were the first folks we met when we moved to Pollock Pines in 2000. Bob and my husband Jeff have worked together as foresters since then. If am not mistaken, at that time Jack was an infant, my daughter Jaz, just a future thought, and Kim was driving school buses for the district while studying for her masters. I could have gotten the timeline completely wrong, which sadly, wouldn’t surprise me at all. I love when I get the opportunity to photograph the Littles, who, by the way, aren’t so little anymore. Well, Bob and Kim, yes, but Jack and Macy? Fast forward 14 years:…

  • With canyon view backdrop and accompanied by both a string quartet and family members’ acoustic harmony, Kristin and Jason were married recently in Kristin’s own backyard, the beautiful home of her parents, Richard and Karen, in Placerville. It was a magical day full of joyful people, not least the groom himself, a playful, charismatic who originally hails from New Jersey. Jason and Kristin just love to laugh and they brought everyone along with them, (including two photographers and an assistant) and their wedding party which included Jason’s brother and Kristin’s two close cousins. It’s also wonderful to connect personally with the families I meet; somehow my…

  • 9.20.14: the wedding day of Jamie and Roman, and the infamous King Fire started just one week before. If you were getting married that weekend in the Pollock Pines area, you weren’t really sure where your wedding would be. After several days of thick smoke-filled skies, a bit of blue emerged through the billows for Jamie and Roman’s wedding at Sierra Banquet Center. Although the King Fire had pushed northeast settling our nerves down a bit locally, everyone’s knee-jerk reaction was to look up when they heard planes flying overhead to see what kind of aircraft it was; a jet dropping fire retardant,…

  • I offer complimentary services for birth photography as a special gift to my wedding clients. Births are full of that raw emotion, just like weddings. And, just like weddings, it takes a certain trust and comfort with the photographer to record these life-milestones in a sensitive, graceful, personal way while respecting family members and the process. How grateful I am to be trusted by these moms! I love getting to share in these amazing moments with my couples. They are another step in the lives they began together back when I witnessed their weddings. Check out Katrina’s Family maternity session…

  • A lifestyle session captures your family just as your family is. It is about letting go and just being yourselves–unscripted. It is about capturing images that are real and not perfect. AND it is just about the easiest way to roll when you have a newborn and a three-year-old…perhaps the only way to roll. This session was about welcoming Baby Freya into her new home. After capturing big brother Finn’s first year, I couldn’t be happier to get to document their growing family, their love for life, and for each other.  I have been photographing this family for years (actually before they…

  • 10 years ago, Chuck was listed as one of the top 10 most eligible bachelors in Sacramento Magazine (as was mentioned quietly to me when I inquired how they met). Then Chuck met Julie. On a perfect, breezy day on the North Shore, Chuck and Julie had a sweet, quaint wedding at the gorgeous backdrop of Christy Hill Resturant in Tahoe City. Fun-loving, light-hearted, they gathered their friends and family with lots of good food and joking around. What a great way to commemorate starting married life together! Julie and Chuck are active and like to bike and run together. They share a…

  • Katrina was an adventurous bride, and now she’s an adventurous mama-to-be! Big smile, big heart, and big beautiful belly. She happily tromped around the riverside with me while I hunted for that scrumptious light. She and Joe married in 2013 (You can see it here).  Their marriage brings together two families, with kids Jordan and Shayla now eagerly awaiting their new little sibling. I met up with everyone again for a field trip. (No, really, in a field!) One of my favorite things about being a photographer is when I get to watch couples grow into their marriage and then,…

  • A Greek wedding! Courtney and Philip’s wedding was a beautiful, traditional Greek Orthodox wedding. I started out the day with Courtney at her parents’ home in Stockton, while my second shooter, Michelle McDaid, met up with Philip. Courtney and Philip describe themselves as not big “picture people,” and they were looking to capture the day without making it all about the photography. Emily Faso of Embellish Floral, who provided amazing floral work, made the very kindly referral to Kristin, their wedding coordinator, after hearing they can be a bit shy around the camera. It was a really windy day, making…

  • This sweet, generous couple was such a treat to work with. So gracious and genuine, Leah and Bruce were married at John and Annie Bowler’s fabulous Flower Farm in Loomis. Bruce, from Alabama, is a real southern gentleman. Leah grew up in San Francisco’s Mission with hippie parents. During the First Look, Bruce came out the door from behind Leah and completely surprised her (she thought she was in someone’s way)! Just close friends and family made up this small, intimate wedding, serenaded by a string quartet. Unexpected tears were shed during the toasts. The striking color of the orchids…
