  •   Look at this little whipper snapper- and at just three weeks Jack is already stretching his legs and ready to take on the world! Jack Banks Heacock is the precious first child of Rebekah and Nathan. He is also the grandson of a dear old friend of mine, Miss Ruthie of Emigrant Trail Pre School fame where my oldest daughter attended (who now, btw is applying to colleges :0). Jack is also the grandson of Miss Rhodes (Nathan’s mom), who taught my kids to play the piano. Crazy. And so the story goes…and it’s a great one. Miss Ruthie’s…

  • When you spend 8 years photographing a family – from engagement to wedding, followed by the birth of their children and all the milestones in between – it is intensely bittersweet to photograph them one last time, in their homecourt playground in the Sierra Nevadas before they move on to new life adventures. But, adventurous friends, adventure. It’s as simple as that. Tiffany and Keith are wonderful friends to me, and working with them and their beautiful children Finn and Freya and all of their like minded friends, all along the way, has been an absolute joy! Saying goodbye to them as they make the…

  • It’s never too late to take senior photos – it still counts, even if you already have a year of college under your belt.  Because senior photos are not about what age you are on the calendar, but what place you have graduated to in your heart. David admitted to me that he was actually feels more “like himself” now than he did when he graduated last year, and I think the comfort and ease with which he approached his photo session proves it.  I just loved how he incorporated different looks and activities into his session, allowing me to document his incredible…

  • How time flies!  I can’t believe Kiki is already a graduating SENIOR, and that I have known her since she was nine years old… I first met Kiki’s parents when they hired me to photograph their wedding in 2009.  Now here we are, almost halfway through 2017, and Kiki is preparing to embark on the major adventure of college.  Through the years I have watched her grow and blossom into the smart, kind, athletic and beautiful woman that she is today (and often through her Dad’s beautiful photography)- and I couldn’t be prouder to help her celebrate this next stage in…

  • Well, actually 3 and a 1/2.  But who’s counting?  I’ll photograph this lively little girl with the 100 watt smile at any age! Audrey is the sweet daughter of Erin and Brett, whose wedding I photographed in 2012. Following families through the most important milestones of their lives is the number one reason I love being a photographer (that, and creating beautiful art with amazing people!).  In fact, I have had the good fortune of documenting Erin’s extended family for several years, having photographed sister Courtney’s wedding in 2011, and now looking forward to photographing her other sister Kristen’s wedding this fall.  It’s always a pleasure…

  • “It’s so us.” Three words that are like sonic gold to any lifestyle photographer’s ear!  When Cheree called me about doing a workday session at their property, I was instantly intrigued.  I have had the good fortune to photograph this family on many occasions, from anniversaries to graduations and holidays to all of those happy milestones in between.  And here was yet another milestone in their lives: some good ol’ DIY construction.  You see, when a cedar tree falls on the Haffner property, they don’t make lemonade, they saw that sucker down and build an addition on to their happy home.  Getting…

  • It gets fuzzy but I think I first met Justin when he was about 8 years old. Marcia, his mom asked me in on a project dear to her…to document their children playing in their long time family home that they were preparing to sell. The kids playing on the swing set, fishing on the pond, the afternoon light streaming through their kitchen window and even their dog standing in the front doorway waiting to be called outside- all those memories you want to hold onto forever.  It was a fun project and we put together a beautiful book to help remember their beloved…
