  • When it’s right it’s right. Instantly we were all having a blast enjoying the great outdoors of Lake Tahoe. Kim and Sean are vibrant, warm and athletic and I was so excited for their paddle board session. Our plan was to use Donner Lake “proper” but the wind was howling that day which sent us to a small inlet behind Donner Lake. I’m looking forward to their August Truckee wedding! Special thanks Amanda Bremmer for all of your help with this one! Enjoy your SLIDESHOW

  • I have a bunch of techniques that I use to get people to loosen up a bit and smile, but during this shoot Jeff, my husband, who was assisting me on this Tahoe shoot, utilized one that had honestly never crossed my mind before. Fortunately the camera was facing the direction of the clients or my white balance would have been really off….see if you can tell which image it is! I only instructed him to be witty and charming- I swear! We had a great family weekend with the Little’s getting away to Squaw- hiking, eating, tubbing and the…

  • I had a chance to again support the Sugarloaf Fine Arts Camp this year when my friend Nina asked me to photograph their annual fundraiser. People that attend the annual Sugarloaf Fine Arts Camp in Pollock Pines every summer are fun and creative people. That also goes for the folks that run and teach at the camp. That also goes for those that attend their annual fundraiser. It’s a great organization and I am proud to support them and the arts in our community. Sugarloaf provides classes for 6th grade through high school students in Concert Bands, Visual Arts, Theater…

  • Well, I can finally say I am done till 2011. Well, almost. Again, being “done” lately seems to rest on someone or something else- this time, Comcast. I would have been done yesterday except with this fabulous mountain living (I really do love it except for the inconvenient storms and effects), we lost our internet service again! As I sit here and wait for them to show up to fix it so that I can post these final images of the season, and get my family out the door to go skiing….I think that my husband is pacing… 🙂 ,…

  • Who doesn’t like Melinda? She is fun, outgoing, owns a smile that will cheer up anyone on a bad day, personable, hard working, caring, dependable and a great mom to boot! When she called me with her idea of “Putting the Dress Back On”, (my spin on a “trash the dress” session), I was psyched! You see, as an artist, we are always looking for those sessions where we can be creative…you know, fly, be free…..dream it, do it! To get to work with Melinda made it that much more fun. She showed up to Sly Park Lake in her…

  • First of all I have to applaud Kim on her clothing choices for the family….I’m going to start having to give people her number if they want coordinating tips – in fact, I may call her to help out our family this year! Sly Park Lake made for a beautiful backdrop for these guys and was a nice change in location from Apple Hill. I’ve been working with The Eggertons since Reid was baby (and Captain Bubbles…but I digress), and I always love the energy they have as a family. I had a lot of fun trying to ‘capture the…

  • I photographed Ty and Tina’s wedding back in 2007 – and now look at them! A beautiful, happy, healthy, growing family. I absolutely adore Ty and Tina and their boys couldn’t be any cuter. These two are as in love as ever and it’s always so enjoyable to get to photograph seasoned, comfortable love. Aiden was so sweet in front of the camera… not shy at all. Well, except whenever we called him “Spicy” he’d get bashful and start laughing- it was the cutest thing! Ryland-happy bubbly little guy and super easy in front of the camera. Such an easy…

  • My extended family has a beautiful farm up on the Umpqua River in Oregon. We don’t get up there as much as we’d like mostly due to the amount of travel time it takes to get there and back. I wish it was about 4 hours away instead of 8-10 hours- we’d go up all the time! My uncles Tommy and Chris and their wives Cherry and Michelle live on the farm and take care of it on a day to day basis. In order to get to it you have to cross the Umpqua River (best not to arrive…
