  • Beautiful Sofia. We had originally met at 24 Carrot Farm for their gorgeous flower backdrop but we got started a little late. Just as the last little bit of sun was tucking away over the hillside and Sofia drove in, we decided to split her session so we did half of it up at Sly Park Lake where the light lingers a little longer and then came back to 24 Carrot the next day, a little earlier for the flowers and some warm sunshine. It worked out great and I was happy to accommodate Sofia as her family have been…

  • On a very cold and gusty day, we headed out to photograph the most lovely Hailey, at Sly Park Lake. Wow! That smile, those eyes and effortless connection with the camera made it pretty easy to ignore the chill.  In addition to her natural beauty, what really struck me was Hailey’s kind and sweet spirit. You felt her kindness being around her. And, what a trooper she was! I kept saying, “Put on your coat- stay warm” between locations. I’m sure glad she brought a hat as it helped to keep her amazing head of hair from blowing away. Photographing…

  •   Kyle is graduating El Dorado High School next year. His mom, Tess, saw my Senior session with our mutual friend’s daughter, Megan, on my blog a few weeks ago, and decided to book a session for Kyle. That’s how things go down in this neck of the woods. • Megan is in her final year at El Dorado High, her two brothers, Ryan and Dylan, preceding her. Which leaves her the last to fly the coup from her lovely and emotional mom, Trisa, who has accompanied all her kids to their senior sessions with me. Like her brothers and her mom, Megan has the most amazing, infectious smile. In fact, there was a moment when I asked Trisa to step into the picture, that I saw that their smiles are not only incredibly similar but that they crept up onto their faces in almost exactly the same manner. Including…

  • Gorgeous Leah is graduating El Dorado High School this May and heading off to Santa Barbara in the fall to continue her studies.  We got together recently at Alder Creek to celebrate this upcoming new chapter in her life. The only girl in the family with two brothers, Leah is an easy-going and fun-loving girl who I had a great time with, rolling around in the moss around the creek and joking that we’d better get some “mom friendly” photos for her mom, Denise. (When it comes to High School Seniors, there’s always the shots they want and the shots mom…
