El Dorado Country senior photographer

You studied, you tested, you worked hard for years, and the time is officially here! It’s time to start thinking about senior photographs and I’m eager to collaborate with you to create photographs that you love. As a photographer, I want to make sure you are comfortable and having fun during your session.

Anthony(Ant, Tony) is down to earth, easygoing, positive, playful and up for anything (even a shot of pinecones surrounding his head- just ’cause.). While others might first notice his athletic abilities as a quarterback, what stood front and center to me was his genuine kindness. In the blink of an eye (my eye anyway), Shirin is a senior and will be graduating very soon from the French American International High School in San Francisco. I have been photographing her family since she was about 2 years old. It was such a beautiful and sunny morning in Oakland and I met her mom, Negar for breakfast before we headed up to the UC Botanical Garden. Of course, this Cal Poly Environmental Science major (to be) can easily become “one” with these beautiful branches of an old fallen tree in a field of late afternoon light. Kaitlin is as kind as they come and those green eyes and gorgeous whispy locks frame that beautiful smile thAt sets you at ease the moment you meet her. Ember (my assistant) and I had such a great time playing in the late afternoon light with Kaitlin and her mom. Honestly, I think being in the creative flow AND playing in the late afternoon light is my most favorite place…

So far, Ember and I have been out for two senior sessions….one of the perks I imagine of having a mom who is a photographer. The first session was in downtown Sac with her good friend Fiona and then we went out again to Sly Park Lake while I was testing out my new camera, a Z6ii, mirrorless. The next session I promised her is with her famous and spoiled cat, Trouble…so stay tuned. It’s sure to be a quick one. Guest Blogger: Ember Soleil Leddy While I first met Fiona when we were little, this year we became great friends. I started attending Charter University Prep, as does Fiona, and she made me feel welcomed immediately. Fiona does that with all of her friends. She makes it a priority to have the people she cares about feel comfortable and at peace. Or she makes them laugh so hard it feels like their ribs are cramping… She is the kind of person who puts aside everything she is dealing with to go out of her way to ask if you’re okay.…

I was supposed to meet up with Ally sometime during the height of the Caldor Fire in our area but with my two-week mandatory evacuation and Ally’s moms work with the El Dorado Foundation raising and distributing money through the Caldor Fire Fund to people in need, we thought a postponement was in order.

A graduation, a real in-person graduation. She has danced all of her life and currently enjoys Irish dance. In addition, Holly has cheered for El Dorado for four years and was the captain of cheer this year. The “captain of cheer”…I like that! She has that type of heart.

What could be more fun than graduating high school and heading to Santa Barbara to continue your studies? Going with your best friend! This spring Ella and Bianca will graduate from El Dorado High School and head to Santa Barbara City College. We got together at the High Sierra Wedding and Iris Gardens in full bloom to capture the two of them in one of my BFF sessions.
