  • It’s a lot of memories you leave behind when you decide to move from the property you have lived on since 2010. And for Smokey, it goes back to way before that to his high school years and living with his parents on the same property. In 2014 Brooke and Smokey built their own place on the property as they welcomed their new daughter, Wren into their family of only fur babies and rafting paddles. And even though his nickname is Smokey, the stagnant wind of the “fire-full” fall in El Dorado county makes it challenging to breathe. So, even…

  • I first met Megan and Brandon in October of 2016 in Apple Hill. They wanted a beautiful fall engagement session complete with wine sipping among the apple trees and a chance for us to get to know each other better. A few frames in, I realized I was in for a treat. Comfortable with themselves, comfortable in their relationship and as we discovered that day, comfortable with me too, topped with a glorious fall day, we exchanged stories as I captured their love in the beautiful colors of autumn in the foothills of the Sierra Nevadas. Their love story started…

  • Wow. What a spectacular venue for Madelyn and Justin! Loved this easy-going couple and the breathtaking hilltop backdrop of David Girard Vineyards in Placerville. One of the many wonderful things about this wedding was the relaxed timeline they had created for themselves and our photography. Building in plenty of time to get from one ‘event’ to the next and have cushion to appreciate the special moments can be the difference between a stressed-out wedding party and one that is relaxed and having a fantastic time. This was definitely a wedding of the latter. And having time helps us photographers too.…

  • I feel fortunate to get to work with many of the same families year after year. I believe it has been about 8 or 9 consecutive years now with the Anderson family. This year we mixed it up a little with formal attire against the historic Coloma background. I love the grey attire, the bright green grass against the old rock walls. It is fun working with them to come up with something new and fun each year. Below is an image that Jess recently sent me of their wall of photographs from over the years. Seeing this made me…

  • Love was in the air at David Girard for Jenn and Danny, and it was easy to tell why.  These two are beautiful together and how could you not love that? Their wedding was perfect; all the special touches that were put into this day were amazing. From the golf pendant Jenn added to Dan’s boutonniere to the releasing of the doves at the ceremony.  Jenn even had a clever way in which the guests were excused for dinner.  There was not a detail missed! The day started out at the River Rock Cottage in Lotus photographing the bride with…

  • Karen and Erin met while working in Northern California as Archeologists and the rest is history.  The two are looking forward to their August wedding at the High Sierra Iris and Wedding Gardens in Camino. Since the iris won’t be in bloom in August we felt it only fitting to capture the two of them with the iris in Coloma as they are blooming now.  I can’t wait until your big day in August.  Until then enjoy your pictures. • I was so excited to get the text from Tony and Tara while I was on vacation that little Wyatt had arrived. I’ve worked with Tony and Tara several times over the years, starting with their engagement and wedding, then with their first pregnancy and year of life with daughter Zoe, and now their newest little one! Wyatt was so calm and peaceful the entire shoot, he seemed happy to just go along with whatever everyone else was doing. Big sister Zoe just couldn’t get enough of him, and stopped several times throughout the session to shower him with kisses.…

  • Kate and Evan are from Pollock Pines or at least have lived here for a long time. They met at Sly Park Lake working together. Their wedding gave a lot of local vendors a chance to get together and help to make their big day shine. Kate and Evan chose a first look at Bella Vista Bed and Breakfast, where they got ready. After their first look, they had the whole day to spend with each other. After many photographs in the wild flowers fields in Coloma, we headed to Sierra Banquet Center in Camino. Sue does such a fabulous…

  • I was so happy when Judy called me up and asked me if I would take her daughter’s senior photographs. Judy and I have worked together a bunch over the last several years as she is the wedding coordinator at David Girard Vineyards. Judy and the staff at DGV are fun and fabulous to work with if you have a wedding in your future! I was truly honored that she asked me to do this for her. Judy told me that I would enjoy Lainey and she was right. A snowboarder, Lainey seemed happy to go along for the ride.…
