Alyssa’s senior shoot started out at a new location for me. The Cozmic Cafe in Placerville- I love that building- so much character! I also love new locations…it allows me the opportunity to think on my feet and also creatively as I work out a new spot and its’ light. I met Caity about 6 years ago through a mutual friend. She is local to our home in Pollock Pines and used to do some babysitting for us !  Ya see, when you don’t have parents that live nearby, you get to meet alot of 11-14 year olds looking for a little extra income. I photographed the Hodges family a few years ago, when there were just 3 of them. This year it was time for another family session, this time as a family of 4. We met in the early morning light at Boeger Winery. And got to spend some time catching up doing some wine tasting after the session. Thank you Hodges family!

Michelle and Zac decided to share their special day with a small, intimate group of family and friends at Sequoia in Placerville. We started the day off with Michelle getting ready, and took some beautiful portraits on one of the many Victorian couches Sequoia has to offer. Most moms would agree that this 2nd pregnancy can be challenging due to the fatigue, compared with a first pregnancy, where you could just rest as desired. Todd and Linda were a first for me. They are looking to adopt a newborn to 5 year old in the near future, and needed some fun photographs taken of the two of them to use for their adoption profiles. Usually by the time an engagement session happens the wedding planning is well under way, and more often than not the couple has been engaged for several months. This was not the case with Nicole and Jeff. Nicole wanted some photographs of the two of them as a newly engaged couple, and I was more than happy to hang out with them for the afternoon. Elle is following in her parents footsteps and heading off to the University of Redlands in the fall. She plans on studying performing arts, and very confidently told me that she wants to become an actress. Her most recent appearance was in the stage production of High School Musical 2, and I am quite sure there will be many more productions to follow. Elle has a great smile and beautiful green eyes and a ton of energy to go with it- Watch out for Elle- she’s coming to a theater near you!
