I love engagement sessions and the opportunity they provide for me to get to know my wedding couples. Oh my, Grace and Nick couldn’t be any sweeter, any kinder–just lovely people who found each other and lucky for me, found me too! They dove right into their “day date” and embraced their time together while I moved them around in a magical fall wonderland- shifting as the light moved through the trees. They will exchange vows this September at the Flower Farm. Bring on the love fest!

“And we are starting a new life” was the title of the first photo session blog post that I did with the Skalos family. It’s also the lyric to a great Van Morrison song. At that time the Skalos family were new to Pollock Pines and wanted to document their family. Getting out in Apple Hill to capture families in the fall loveliness of El Dorado County…

She had a great writing style infused with humor and sarcasm that made them easy to read through. Now, they are a part of my family history outlining some of the milestones of each year when I was growing up. I’m so glad to have them. 

We also worked for 6 years together to Save the Canal- a historic waterway and pathway through the woods that was a community favorite. Onto the next generation… and Natalie’s kids.

Oh, sweet Maeve. The little girl who flashes her gorgeous, multi-toothed smile when she hears Irish music and who is so adored by her mom and dad. I first met Jamie and Enrico back in June of 2019 when they asked me to help them with their “Waiting Family Profile”. They were wanting to adopt a child and were waiting to be matched with a birth family. I had helped other families several times before with this journey and I was so pleased when I heard that Kai joined their family in March of 2021. LOVE these two. Free spirits. Animal lovers. Kind humans. Sisters. I’ve been photographing Madison and Hailey since they were pre-schoolers and it’s such an honor to get to watch them grow up while capturing their “one year older” personalities.. It’s a perfect fall up here and this year, so far, basically smokeless…which is saying alot. Shhhhhh- knock on wood. It’s raining as I write this…we are almost through fire season.
