Alright- it seems I am on a roll these days with cute babies. Or maybe it is just those bright eyed, “the world is my oyster” smiles that captivate my heart and imagination? Whatever it is…keep it coming. I’m having a great time!
It has been a few years now capturing the Moreland crew. It’s one of the favorite parts of being a photographer; getting to experience and record these incredible life changing moments and often, if I’m lucky, year after year too. I know them, we’ve worked together many times, We have already built a rapport; at a session, I’m familiar with their genuine smiles and how they interact with each other- we dive in, trust it and it flows. This family is so natural and easy in front of my camera. I am grateful to get to work with them.
A couple years ago, on perhaps the hottest summer day ever, I photographed Katrina and Joe joining their two families(with children Shayla and Jordan) when they married at Apple Mountain Golf Club in Camino. A couple years later, Katrina contacted me to let me know that she was pregnant. I l o v e getting that call from my past wedding clients:) After ordering one of my baby packages and shooting a fun, family maternity session, it was time for Casey’s birth and I was honored to be there(well,.. almost) as she was born in one of those “oh my god, what happened” moments that seem to frequent a 2nd or 3rd time mom. Still, my arriving even a few minutes late in those incredible first moments of life and adoration was breath taking and beautiful. Katrina is so strong and Joe is so steady.
A lifestyle newborn session was next in their Natomas home about a week after Casey took the world by storm.
Casey’s smile lit up our six month session in the park. She is simply an adored little girl. How lucky for her- how lucky for them. Love you all!
Special thanks for Michelle for the great location, awesome help and dinner date afterwards!
