• It seems like I’ve been working at Boeger a lot these days, but I can’t think of a better place to have shot the Poole family. The light was beautiful, the family was full of fun, and there was lots of space for the little ones to run around and have fun. These two were on their way to a date night at The Kitchen once my time with them was over ( I hope I didn’t get you guys too dirty!). The fall colors of apple hill made for a beautiful backdrop for these guys, and there’s nothing quite…

  • Michelle and Tim are a great couple. As a photographer, it is a great feeling you get when you see someone’s natural connection and ease with each other…AND you get to photograph them! This is them; easy going and open both to each other and to the “good time” wherever it may be. They are the kind who will find it, if it doesn’t find them first. Tim is a structural engineer and Michelle has been working in the commercial real estate industry in some form or another for the past 4 years. They actually met while on the job…

  • If you’ve had the chance to work with me in the past two years then you probably remember my former assistant, Cassie. Meet Miranda, Cassie’s younger sister. I took Cassie’s senior portraits a few years back, and then their brother Zac’s a year or so before that and now it was Miranda’s turn.  We met at Boeger Winery right before the sun started to go down. I took advantage of the fact that I worked with her sister and asked Miranda how she and her sister are different. Her first response was “I’m smarter” which just cracked me up- gotta…

  • It was a beautiful day at Boeger Winery when we met up with Andrew for his senior session. Andrew is a guitar player, and brought his guitar along for the shoot.  Not only did it serve as a great prop throughout the shoot, but it made for a fantastic atmosphere to work in – the rolling hills of the vineyard, beautiful evening light, and gentle music played by Andrew himself – not a bad way to enjoy sunset, I’d say! My “past life” included about 15 years as both a live and recording studio engineer and I have great affection…

  • Gavin and Fayth. They’ve been friends for 11 years and are both graduating from El Dorado High this coming May. Their senior “split” session for friends? So fun; ranging from moments of introspection to pure silliness. Our session? A warm, fall, Californian late afternoon at Boeger Vineyards. Perfect. Not sure it gets any better than this… Meet Gavin: Loves theater more than anything- in fact, check him out as the lead in The Terrible Tragedy of Peter Pan this November. His favorite thing to do is “to listen to music in my car while going too fast.” In his spare…

  • You may remember these two from this post last fall at the river. After the shoot they decided they wanted a guest book for their wedding. We decided to head downtown for an urban vibe shoot to compliment the river shoot and to make the guest book even more playful and full of life, like they are. Here’s the fun we had! These two are a great couple and I’m looking forward to their winter wedding in downtown Sacramento.

  • For the last several years I have had the pleasure of providing un-traditional school photography for locally owned, Pinetop Montessori. I met Jill, the owner several years and we became fast friends.  My daughter Ember went to Pinetop and got to benefit from some great learning, teachers and playtime at the school. Ember loved Pinetop and it was great fun for her! I created this slideshow from all the kids who participated in photo day. I enjoyed working with all of them Many thanks to Kristi Seccombe for helping me wrangle up the kids and their personalities to be captured…

  • I was so excited when Cherise and Chris chose me to document their 3-day camping wedding in Los Gatos. The whole weekend had an air of an intimate family reunion.  They started with a welcome party on Friday night as everyone was arriving. Great food (thanks Joshua Charles Catering) and laughter warmed the evening as everyone checked out what each other had written on the cool, custom designed response cards; it was the perfect way to start the weekend. I quickly made friends with Ben, one of the groomsmen, and jokingly became his drinking coach for the weekend calling out,…

  • After an amazing time at their engagement shoot in Lake Tahoe, I knew their wedding was going to be fabulous. Danielle and Jeff’s love of wine was not only showcased in their choice of location, the beautiful Wine & Roses in wine country, Lodi, but also in their engagement session, and in their table settings. They chose wine stoppers for their favors, used corks to display guest seating information and the names of the different types of grapes that are used to make wine, as their table names. Their wedding was beautiful, elegant and very warm- and by warm, I…

  • Chip called me a few weeks ago- it seems his old friend and new sweetheart was going to be in town and it was important to him to capture the beginnings of their relationship. Chip and Shannon met at Chico State years ago and were instant friends. Both were involved in other relationships at the time but they confided in each other alot and gave each other advice. Well, they have kept in touch and now are both free explore a deeper friendship. Oh, did I mention that Chip is a photographer and that it is a bit intimidating to…

  • We met up with some truly wonderful old friends at Blue Mountain Lake in the Adirondaks in upstate New York this month while visiting Jeff’s parents. Randi and Philippe joined us from Martha’s Vineyard with their family, Miles, Elie and Leo(the doggie), and Henry, Shawn and their one year old, Hugh made the drive up from Ithaca. We spent the weekend, kayaking, party barging down the lake, fishing, running, wake boarding, cooking great food, swimming, reading, and catching up with each other with long late night discussions and other general hoopla. Truly enjoyable! I went to Syracuse University with Randi,…

  • Ok, granted I get a bit nostalgic with these two, well, these three now. Enter Zoe. Tara and Tony purchased a Baby Package when they knew they were expecting. Their package came with three sessions throughout Zoe’s first year and a One Year Brag Book Album. For Zoe, her sessions were at newborn, 4 months(with her grandparents too) and at one year, plus they added a pregnancy session as well. Zoe just celebrated her first year of life and now we get to pick all of the favorites from each of the shoots to create their First Year memory album.…
