• My summer weddings have been exceptional so far and it’s all about the lovely people I get to experience. I’ve had the honor to work with some of the sweetest, most laid back and connected couples. Maureen and Curt were no exception. Last year, when they contacted me they were very clear that they wanted wedding photography that told the story of their day elegantly and realistically without a lot of “cheesy” poses…and Maureen may have even said that. Fortunately Deanna from one of my absolute favorite venues Fausel Ranch, knew this about my work, that I prefer emotion and…

  • Ever been to one of those weddings where you walk out, so completely energized, exclaiming “that was the BEST wedding”? I’m certain most all who attended Amy and Tim’s June 1st wedding at their home and dog training facility in Dixon did. These two and their friends and family, really know how to throw a party! I’ve photographed several variations of the Cutter family over the years so the whole event already started out near to my heart. With only 8-10 weeks from planning to event, Amy and Tim, with a lot of love and help from their friends and…

  • Alot happens in a year. Jaz and I met up with Elizabeth and Greg at Sand Harbor on their one year anniversary. They got married at Edgewood just a year prior and were celebrating in Tahoe with their first baby, Hudson to arrive in just a couple months. It was a sweet session as we chased around the light and Elizabeth was a trooper! We laughed as Greg “parkoured” around the rocks determining if there was a safe way for Elizabeth to get there or not. Look at his face, he is enamored with his bride and soon to be…

  • It’s doesn’t take long to feel the chemistry between Bradley and Laura. They are easy going. They are fun and funny, often silly and so obviously enamored with each other. Oh, AND really kind people. From our first phone call where they honored me with the words, “You are our first choice – let’s book this”, to meeting up with them in Pollock Pines recently for an up-country engagement session – these are the couples that wedding photographers’ dream of. I am certain their wedding will be flowing freely in the “love department” where 200-250 close friends and family will be…

  • There was just something special about this wedding that it was hard to put your finger on. Was it the buzz of eager anticipation in the air? Was it the warm, genuine hugs from the family and friends that flooded in with broad smiles on their faces? The constant soundtrack of laughter that enveloped you everywhere you went? Or was it just Emily and Shannon, who seem to have touched so many people with their generosity of spirit and sweet love story?

  • Love /luv/ (noun, verb, & everything in between) 1. sweethearts 2. gets better with time 3. the best kind of friendship Two days after Mandi and Tom celebrated their marriage on a gorgeous April day “made to order”, in a beautiful backyard ceremony, I headed east for a month long adventure to celebrate some of my own milestones including a birthday, a high school reunion, a graduation celebration and two weeks out of the country celebrating my own marriage, nineteen years ago. Mandi and Tom’s relationship began at a Mexican taqueria in Davis that had “terrible food” in 2013 after…

  • While these two are out starting their new lives together on their big cross country adventure to their new home in Tennessee, I thought it would be fun to post some of my favorite images from their Wedgewood Sequoia Mansion wedding earlier this month. I’m hoping they will get a chance to enjoy them on some mountain top, down in a canyon or even at a cool historic diner somewhere between here and there. Road trips rule! I loved working with Cambria and Craig. There was such a strong connection between them, and not only that, their friends and family…

  • Photographing Phoebe- That cute red haircut, that beautiful smile peeking through the wildflowers- all in the loveliness of the late afternoon light….. Come May, Phoebe will be tossing that cap in the air at the Ponderosa High School graduation and become a part of the class of 2019. With a passion for zoology, she plans to stay local for a couple years at FLC and then transfer to another college. Such a very exciting time of life. I wish you the very best in your next adventure!

  • And so it is….Miss Lily is one and what a doll she is. Big brother Nyron called me “Aunt Lisa” when I arrived and I just about melted. His warm expression towards me just about summed up the connection I feel with this family after so many milestones, starting with Matt’s high school senior photos many years ago, if you can believe it. Kailey, Matt and their family are so dear to me. We’ve trusted each other through alot and for a long time and I’m so very honored to have them as friends. We kept this session simple and…

  • When Amanda contacted me last year after learning she and Reed were having another baby, I sighed and thought, I must be getting older…. Now while Amanda and Reed were not one of my wedding couples, Amanda and her sister, Rachel were both El Dorado county high school seniors whom I had the pleasure of photographing…. just a few (lol) years ago. And now- to get to photograph little Owen coming into their lives. What an absolute honor to be remembered after all these years. Amanda sent me a text as she was going into labor so that we could…

  • Just a couple of weeks ago, I got to spend about an hour with mom, Michelle, Paige and big sister Madelyn capturing some images of just the three of them and mostly to celebrate Paige’s first birthday. What a sweety. She even allowed me to snuggle her as she wasn’t feeling that great. I remember. As a mom of two girls also, it’s fun to capture Paige and Madelyn’s sister bond and even more so, it makes me happy for Michelle to be in the photographs and to have some images with her girls to remember and enjoy. Camino even…

  • When Heaven called me after being referred to my business for a Tahoe family snow session right after the holidays, I was ALL in. Well, except for that part where we needed SNOW and SUNSHINE…and in a defined period of time. That’s a tall order. Anyone who lives around here in the mountains and that skis knows that it doesn’t usually work that way.  Weather is more predictable about 2-3 days out as it changes so fast. Other than that, it can be a crap shoot. I recommended the Echo Lake area due to the elevation and better probability of…
