• Zoie. Vivacious, fun, spunky, (my neighbor) and such a beautiful young lady. Currently a high school senior at Union Mine in El Dorado, CA playing on the basketball team, working for the infamous and adored, John Sanders at the Old Town Grill in Placerville and looking forward to graduating this coming May. After graduation Zoie plans to become a paramedic because she “wants to help people who really need it” and “doesn’t want people to go through trauma if she can help it”. LOVE her heart. In her spare time she likes to read, ride motor cross and hang out…

  •   Look at this little whipper snapper- and at just three weeks Jack is already stretching his legs and ready to take on the world! Jack Banks Heacock is the precious first child of Rebekah and Nathan. He is also the grandson of a dear old friend of mine, Miss Ruthie of Emigrant Trail Pre School fame where my oldest daughter attended (who now, btw is applying to colleges :0). Jack is also the grandson of Miss Rhodes (Nathan’s mom), who taught my kids to play the piano. Crazy. And so the story goes…and it’s a great one. Miss Ruthie’s…

  • Alex and Matt married just over 7 years ago at Fausel Ranch in Placerville and I was there to capture their wedding day celebration. It was a memorable day for me as their wedding party was comprised of two other couples who I had also photographed weddings of recently. It’s the kind of connection that makes a wedding day that much easier for any photographer. It was a celebration, a reunion of sorts and a big ol’ dance party! Fast forward to 2019, now settled into their recently completed beautiful home, they have two wonderful kids, Brock(4), a vivacious, sweet…

  • Elise’s world came caving in this past January when in a few short weeks she lost both her healthy father to a unimaginable heart attack and her home and belongings to a fire. I don’t think anyone can fathom this loss. Elise and my daughter have known each other since grade school and often played soccer together on the same team. Elise’s dad Joe, one of the kindest and most generous people you will ever know, was a friend of ours and his loss is felt deeply in our community. Elise graduates from Union Mine this May and like most…

  • High on hill, overlooking the rolling fog almost covering the Golden Gate Bridge, Sahoko and Josh exchanged their vows at Blake Garden where Sahoko is doing an artist residency exploring dyes and paints from organic materials. I met Sahoko this past January while we were both working for Van Alen.org Climate Council. The Climate Council recently visited California researching the social dimensions of the food system something that Sahoko is passionate about (read more here and here).  She got in touch with me just a few weeks before their wedding and asked me to capture their nuptials. Having lived in the Bay…

  • On July 27, Eric and Jody celebrated their marriage at Strawberry Lodge in Kyburz.(read the history of the Lodge here). Nestled in the mountains at 5700ft., their unique celebration, complete with a castle hand built by Eric, brought together many of their dear friends and family while also expanding their own family to now include their three sons, Weston, Brian and Lucas.  Eric and Jody’s met on a blind date set up by one of Jody’s students… AND the student’s father is Eric’s friend of over 20 years. Don’t you just love that? With Jody’s warm and engaging smile and Eric’s…

  • Over the years I have had the distinct honor of being trusted to photograph numerous births, many of which are with previous wedding clients. While Gia and Jeff are not previous wedding clients, they could have easily been as our connection upon arrival at the hospital was almost immediate. Perhaps that’s the “match making” prowess of my dear friend and client many times over, Tom who knew us all well enough to know we’d hit it off, and most importantly that his dear friends and coworkers, Gia and Jeff would be completely comfortable with me capturing this very special and…

  • Sweet Miss Madilynn was just about 6 months old and Mom and Dad decided it was time to capture this moment in time. Not quite sitting on her own yet, Dad decided to take her flying….LOL (see below). Such a sweet family and fun session. Many thanks to Lynn Larsen for use of her property and to Amanda Anderson for referring Danielle to me. As a mom of a 14 and 17 year old, trust me, these moments slip away quickly and I love getting to capture them for families. Here are a few of my favs….

  • My summer weddings have been exceptional so far and it’s all about the lovely people I get to experience. I’ve had the honor to work with some of the sweetest, most laid back and connected couples. Maureen and Curt were no exception. Last year, when they contacted me they were very clear that they wanted wedding photography that told the story of their day elegantly and realistically without a lot of “cheesy” poses…and Maureen may have even said that. Fortunately Deanna from one of my absolute favorite venues Fausel Ranch, knew this about my work, that I prefer emotion and…

  • Ever been to one of those weddings where you walk out, so completely energized, exclaiming “that was the BEST wedding”? I’m certain most all who attended Amy and Tim’s June 1st wedding at their home and dog training facility in Dixon did. These two and their friends and family, really know how to throw a party! I’ve photographed several variations of the Cutter family over the years so the whole event already started out near to my heart. With only 8-10 weeks from planning to event, Amy and Tim, with a lot of love and help from their friends and…

  • Alot happens in a year. Jaz and I met up with Elizabeth and Greg at Sand Harbor on their one year anniversary. They got married at Edgewood just a year prior and were celebrating in Tahoe with their first baby, Hudson to arrive in just a couple months. It was a sweet session as we chased around the light and Elizabeth was a trooper! We laughed as Greg “parkoured” around the rocks determining if there was a safe way for Elizabeth to get there or not. Look at his face, he is enamored with his bride and soon to be…

  • It’s doesn’t take long to feel the chemistry between Bradley and Laura. They are easy going. They are fun and funny, often silly and so obviously enamored with each other. Oh, AND really kind people. From our first phone call where they honored me with the words, “You are our first choice – let’s book this”, to meeting up with them in Pollock Pines recently for an up-country engagement session – these are the couples that wedding photographers’ dream of. I am certain their wedding will be flowing freely in the “love department” where 200-250 close friends and family will be…
