Mattea and Drake planned their wedding on what turned out to be one of the heaviest downpours we’ve seen this year.
Just 11 days ago, right before the federal gov’t started to acknowledge the severity of coronavirus, little did we know that Paislee, choosing to slip into her prom dress for some photographs, at dusk at the end of her senior session, would be so prescient.
After arriving at Nikhil and Disha’s hotel at 6:15am, and finally getting to meet the two of them, their elopement day began. Nikhil and I had spoke numerous times over the last month and I was touched at all the love he put into making this a perfect day for his bride. He was marrying his love. They were smitten. I captured a few getting ready shots including with Disha’s sister, Saloni and then a first look at the hotel on our way out the door to meet up with our pilot Tim from @skydrifters in Amador County to enjoy…
What a lucky boy you are to have the parents you have. I’ve known Meg and Brandon since their engagement in 2016 and I’m always honored when my wedding couples reach out to me to continue capturing their life milestones, these two in particular. This continuum allows us to easily jump back in where we left off. Meg and Brandon’s love and connection is so clear that it simply feels good on my soul to see it, feel it and to capture it. The best part of life is the love we share and the connections we make along the…
As I posted this, “new parents any day now” Brooke has arrived! Courtney and Joel are going to be new parents any day now and I understand their excitement. They’re embarking on a journey that they really know nothing about first hand- but they’re moving forward with joy, love and anticipation for what is next, together. TOGETHER. This is such an amazing time for a couple. After many weekly calls to Courtney to reschedule due to weather, I finally got to meet them on a snowy(and sunny) late afternoon at Jenkinson Lake. (aka Sly Park Lake). And it’s a good…
Flying high above the earth, capturing the world from above gives me a chance to see new lines, and new light.
Family photography session with The Norton family from Davis in gorgeous winter light at Jenkinson Lake in Pollock Pines, California
Fast forward to December 2019 and Xavier no longer the squishly little infant surrounded in pets but an energetic, little guy with a smile that can turn any day around
Wrapping up 2019…
I always pause at the end of a year and try to take it all in. And while I enjoy the Christmas holidays, I am much happier in general in that space between Christmas and the New Year.
I think this was smart as your photographer is with you all day long at your wedding and it’s important that a couple not only likes you but that they they love your work. Meg and Brandon knew that you don’t get to do important milestones like weddings, nor the photography, over again.
The Inn at Park Winters has a rich history. This farm has been here since 1854, when George Washington Scott, one of the first American settlers in what is now Yolo County, bought it after crossing the plains (a six-month trip!). There were so many fun options for making really creative and unique portraits of these two fine ladies.
What high school senior doesn’t want their own car and a Subaru WRX STI at that? Well, and then there’s the passion of working on your car all paid for by a part time job in Apple Hill. What a great kid! Where does the time go? Raising chidlins’ in the small town of Pollock Pines, we’ve known the Ogzewalla’s since grade school days. My kids took piano from Drew’s mom Christina and Drew’s dad Jeremy was a favorite soccer coach. These kids all grew up together and now they’re finishing up high school. The Class of 2020. Wait, it…
