Claire is thoughtfully reflective. As an aspiring author, she spends a lot of time reading and writing stories with fantasy being her favorite genre. She also makes beautiful jewelry which she wore(and I photographed) during her senior session.

We met Carlo down by the river in Coloma near where he lives to take some photographs to commemorate his senior year. As a student, making it through 20-21 is something to be proud of. I’ve had the pleasure of photographing the O’rilley kids for years, while simultaneously providing tissues to Trisa as she watched each of her ‘not babies anymore’ approach their high school graduation.

Alyson and Frankie were ready to marry and decided to keep it small in order to do so.  Micro-wedding’s are becoming quite popular in these Covid days and I have to say- I love them as there is so much more focus on the couple and on the ceremony. On a very cold and gusty day, we headed out to photograph the most lovely Hailey, at Sly Park Lake. Wow! That smile, those eyes and effortless connection with the camera made it pretty easy to ignore the chill.  In addition to her natural beauty, what really struck me was Hailey’s kind and sweet spirit. You felt her kindness being around her. And, what a trooper she was! I kept saying, “Put on your coat- stay warm” between locations.   Where does the time go? One thing for sure, I am able to mark the passing of another year by my annual Anderson Family session. I have been photographing the Gray family since this shot above from Emigrant Trail pre-school(2005 ish?) and Catie still has alot to say! Watching these kids grow up and participate in school events alongside my own kids in our small community has been a rewarding experience. I love the process of meeting new families and getting the opportunity to capture something real with my camera. It usually takes a little to get everyone warmed up though it makes me smile when I see it happen. Those little moments where smiles are natural, makes me smile. Sure we had help from a couple cute family doggies who are incredibly loved as well as a curious, local crow. Well, I got to meet cute lil’ Texas for the first time as he entered this world. Seriously.

Well, it used to be that my most favorite part of photographing newborn sessions was getting a little newborn snuggle-time while also giving a tired mom and dad a little break here and there. In these times of covid, this is unfortunately not possible. I choose not to have any physical contact with these little babies. I can’t wait till this is not the case.

Look how much these two kids have grown, HA -and their adult parents too….though I must admit, they look the same as when I captured them on their wedding day at Fausel Ranch back in 2011.

This was my third time photographing Brianna and thinking back, the first time, she was just a young girl of ten. Fast forward eight years and she still carries so much beauty, kindness and a gorgeous smile that lights up her face.
