Well, I got to meet cute lil’ Texas for the first time as he entered this world. Seriously.
Well, it used to be that my most favorite part of photographing newborn sessions was getting a little newborn snuggle-time while also giving a tired mom and dad a little break here and there. In these times of covid, this is unfortunately not possible. I choose not to have any physical contact with these little babies. I can’t wait till this is not the case.
Look how much these two kids have grown, HA -and their adult parents too….though I must admit, they look the same as when I captured them on their wedding day at Fausel Ranch back in 2011.
This was my third time photographing Brianna and thinking back, the first time, she was just a young girl of ten. Fast forward eight years and she still carries so much beauty, kindness and a gorgeous smile that lights up her face.
Henningsen Lotus Park is a favorite location to photograph at and especially in the fall. When Laura contacted me to capture some images of her family, earlier this fall, in their family home before they moved- we had to reschedule at least 4 times or more due to all the smoke in the air. Their home had a beautiful sunset view that was completely covered in all the September/October California smoke from all the fires. Well, while staying local, they did move to a new home so we came up with a plan B. Not bad. I’m going to give…
Jaymie and Brennan married on a gorgeous fall day at the Lake Natoma Inn in Folsom, on their outdoor patio, surrounded by close family and friends and the gorgeous florals from my old friend, Dottie(Couture Weddings by Dottie) and team, Cocomont Styling. Jaymie’s dad, Danny performed the service joined by Jaymie’s 2-year-old niece, Sierra who “helped”. Jaymie and Brennan met freshman year at high school and started dating their senior year. Brennan proposed to Jaymie on a pier in San Francisco after a day at Six Flags and a ferry ride to the big, beautiful city. I’ve known Jaymie and…
Maureen and Curt got married at a barn burner surrounded by the love of family and friends and the most delicious food(yay! paella) AND at one of my favorite venues, Fausel Ranch. A pretty stellar evening. This was in June of 2018. After buying a new home in Alameda and a honeymoon in New Zealand, they got to work on a few projects including some home renovations and baby construction. Little Odin arrived in September and I met up with their new expanded family at Fausel to capture them all, including Lucy, their rescue dog who enjoyed the wide open…
A few years back I photographed Jack’s sister, Grace and made an easy connection with their mom, Pam. Jack is the middle child at the Harrison household and I was honored to get Pam’s request earlier this year to schedule a senior session for him. Jack attends Union Mine and will graduate this May. He’s passionate about civil rights and likes to discuss history, politics and current events. I turned both of them onto Heather Cox Richardson, a historian, professor and writer. I thought they too might enjoy her current news digest and historical insights. Jack also enjoys music and…
You never know where you’ll find your next wedding couple. As I was headed out to one of my favorite spots at Jenkinson Lake one evening with a family I was photographing, I came upon a couple and a few of their friends doing a quick rehearsal for a ceremony they had planned for the next day. We exchanged some small talk and I said, “I hope you have a photographer for this magnificent spot”, and they looked at their friends with iPhones and said that they did. As I was leaving I passed by their camping spot and…
I loved everything about this session with Sadie. Seriously, what’s not to love? An interesting and vibrant young woman on the verge of finding what makes her tic. Ok, playing in the late afternoon light in Coloma
Written by Kim Little, Principal of Pinewood Elementary Last spring, the Pinewood Elementary Parent Teacher Club set out a find an artist willing to brighten the Pollock Pines campus with a custom painted agility trail. One parent quickly connected the school with Debra Power. Power, a retired science teacher from the El Dorado High School District now spends much of her energy on her passion of art and painting. To the schools delight, Debra agreed to make the group’s vision a reality, plus much more. After a first walkthrough and meeting, Debra proposed more ideas to beautify the small school…
There is something about Juliana and her quiet beauty…inside, outside and all around her. This was just one of those sessions…and while I know it will be better for all of us with some rain to clear that smoke from our air, that soft lightbox of sunlight created by the smoke made for some spectacular light. I can’t think of a more lovely young lady that I would like to spend it with (well, other than my daughter, Ember who has been helping me out in the field). Juliana graduates this May from Virtual Academy and has a love for…
