• I first met Alyse and Ryan at an engagement session in a lupine field in Folsom. Not a bad place to spend the early evening getting to know one another. In fact, highly recommended. The two of them are super easygoing and just about as kind as they come. Alyse’s mom, Elaine referred me to them and I was glad that they asked me to capture this milestone in their lives. This year I have photographed several weddings with many local families that I have some history with, either with their kids as seniors and/or friends of my kids or…

  • Well, I intended for this to be a sneak peek, but I had a hard time choosing just a few favorites so I landed at a blog post. Which are your top five favorites? There was SO MUCH love in the air, sprinkled with a handful of magical, to capture with my camera. The color of the late afternoon light washed over the event. I don’t know how to describe it- it was a large wedding that had that gentle feeling of a small, homespun but très élégante event– not too much, and just enough. Perhaps it was the community…

  • It’s a lot of memories you leave behind when you decide to move from the property you have lived on since 2010. And for Smokey, it goes back to way before that to his high school years and living with his parents on the same property. In 2014 Brooke and Smokey built their own place on the property as they welcomed their new daughter, Wren into their family of only fur babies and rafting paddles. And even though his nickname is Smokey, the stagnant wind of the “fire-full” fall in El Dorado county makes it challenging to breathe. So, even…

  • On my recent trip to Chatham Hall to photograph graduation this year, I met up with Jolie and her beloved horse, Beau for a photo session before the graduation festivities began. – You see, Jolie was graduating from high school and her first horse Beau, was going to stay at Chatham Hall for others to learn to ride. What sweeties…both of them. I’ll have to visit Beau next year at graduation to see how his year was. – Best of luck on your new adventures, Jolie and Beau. – Best of luck to you, Jolie (and Beau) in your new…

  • What could be more fun than putting on a cute little dress and playing around in a lavender field while “yours truly” gets to capture it? Ok, truth be told, while I think Lauren enjoyed our shoot, she may have preferred to be on the court or out on the field(the big green kind with goalposts).

  • High School sweethearts and “friends first”, Nick and Anja got married 10 years after they first started dating. The history of ten years of dating made for alot of storytelling (and great expressions) during the toasts- lots of laughing. And that’s the way it was all day….they were surrounded in joy, warmth and the “love of life” vibe of friends and family.

  • What could be more fun than graduating high school and heading to Santa Barbara to continue your studies? Going with your best friend! This spring Ella and Bianca will graduate from El Dorado High School and head to Santa Barbara City College. We got together at the High Sierra Wedding and Iris Gardens in full bloom to capture the two of them in one of my BFF sessions. It’s a great way to enjoy your senior pics—split the cost, split the session- plus keep each other laughing! And, as I always try to do, we got both mamas to sit…

  • I love these BFF sessions. They are always super casual and the interactions between friends are fun to capture. Molly and Abigail have known each other forever. They are cousins and were raised together. Their moms are sisters and so are they, basically. Both are seniors this year at Ponderosa and will graduate with the Class of ’21. Both played on the volleyball team. This fall, Abby is heading off to Chatt State and Molly to boot camp, to join the Navy. You know they are going to miss each other. Y’all are beautiful. Wishing you both the very best…
