• I love these BFF sessions. They are always super casual and the interactions between friends are fun to capture. Molly and Abigail have known each other forever. They are cousins and were raised together. Their moms are sisters and so are they, basically. Both are seniors this year at Ponderosa and will graduate with the Class of ’21. Both played on the volleyball team. This fall, Abby is heading off to Chatt State and Molly to boot camp, to join the Navy. You know they are going to miss each other. Y’all are beautiful. Wishing you both the very best…

  • Sure, being surrounded in the lupine super bloom is pure magic, but as I came to find out, after meeting Alyse and Ryan for the first time, so are their energies, both with each other and with the pure sweetness they put out into the world. Our hour long session turned into a several as they chased the light around Folsom Lake with me while we carefully navigated the lupine. Not initially planning an engagement session, nor a wedding during covid, we were able to shift some wedding time into engagement time as their larger wedding required some scaling back,…

  • We met Carlo down by the river in Coloma near where he lives to take some photographs to commemorate his senior year. As a student, making it through 20-21 is something to be proud of. As an adult it is hard but honestly, I was able to focus my energies on “around the home” activities- cleaning, tossing, cooking etc. As a high school senior it would have driven me nuts. At a time when you are finding yourself and trying to engage with folks, Covid made it all the more awkward. For the Class of 2021, the promise of an…

  • Alyson and Frankie were ready to marry and decided to keep it small in order to do so.  Micro-wedding’s are becoming quite popular in these Covid days and I have to say- I love them as there is so much more focus on the couple and on the ceremony. Alyson and Frankie exchanged vows at the beautiful Newcastle Wedding Gardens & Red Horse Barn. Whoever ordered up that fabulous day in January- thank you. I ran around outside with the warm sun on my shoulders all day long! What a treat to again work with some fabulous vendors too! Here…

  • On a very cold and gusty day, we headed out to photograph the most lovely Hailey, at Sly Park Lake. Wow! That smile, those eyes and effortless connection with the camera made it pretty easy to ignore the chill.  In addition to her natural beauty, what really struck me was Hailey’s kind and sweet spirit. You felt her kindness being around her. And, what a trooper she was! I kept saying, “Put on your coat- stay warm” between locations. I’m sure glad she brought a hat as it helped to keep her amazing head of hair from blowing away. Photographing…

  •   Where does the time go? One thing for sure, I am able to mark the passing of another year by my annual Anderson Family session. Jessica recently shared with me this photo of their photo albums that they create with their print order every year and it was so lovely and flattering to see these beautiful treasures marking every year, holding a lifetime of memories. When we are on the other side of covid, Jess and I discussed a wine date so that we can look through all of the years together. I look forward to that. Their session…

  • I have been photographing the Gray family since this shot above from Emigrant Trail pre-school(2005 ish?) and Catie still has alot to say! Watching these kids grow up and participate in school events alongside my own kids in our small community has been a rewarding experience. Who knew what their passions would be back when this photo was taken. Catie’s passion is all things art. She plays piano, guitar, ukulele, flute, accordion, percussion. She has been singing since she was two and loves musical theater after her first visit to see Wicked at age of 6. Her mom and my…

  • I love the process of meeting new families and getting the opportunity to capture something real with my camera. It usually takes a little to get everyone warmed up though it makes me smile when I see it happen. Those little moments where smiles are natural, makes me smile. Sure we had help from a couple cute family doggies who are incredibly loved as well as a curious, local crow. Many thanks to Sharlene and the Kasadate family for coming up to Pollock Pines for photographs. The rest of your gallery will be ready soon.
