• Engagement sessions are definitely the best way to get in front of the camera before your wedding day. For me, I get to spend some time getting to know more about the couple and what their connection is with each other, all prior to their big day. For the couple, they get to know me and a little bit about how I work while spending some time in front of the camera. Wedding days can be full of nerves and I find it is so great for us to all have worked together in a more relaxed situation. They know…

  • I recently met the Hough family at Sly Park Lake to celebrate Elizabeth’s graduation from Union Mine High School this past May. Of course, I wanted to make sure we captured the whole family too, as this is a big milestone. Being able to watch your child graduate from High School is an important milestone and even more important to my dear friend, Lindia. Set your goals and make them happen. Move forward in positivity and grace. Have gratitude for each day. These are just a few of the things I have learned from in part from Lindia over the…

  • High on a hill, with rows of vines shimmering in diffused light and gently sloping southeast, Elena and Josh exchanged vows at the home of Elena’s parents, Tim and Karen Jolly, owners of a beautiful vineyard and farm, WindRush. Out in the mid-day sun of a vineyard, this exposed location could have sent us photographers seeking shade to find the most flattering light, but not today. The clouds softened the light before it hit the ground all day long while we hit the ground running to capture their wedding day. Avoiding a forecasted rain, there was just a slight hint…

  • On one of the first hot days of summer, somewhere off of Highway 49 in El Dorado, Zoë and Zach finally got to live out their plan for a laidback, garden-bohemian wedding celebration, sprinkled with superheroes, bachata Latin dance, Lord of the Rings and of course dear family and friends. Zoë and Zach originally married on May 14, 2018 before a big trip to China and almost exactly four years later everyone gathered to celebrate their union. Let’s just say it’s been crazy couple of years for these couples of scheduling and rescheduling. After getting ready, the day started out…

  •   A gorgeous day, drenched in sunlight and palpable joy, with blue skies overhead and snow on the mountains – it was a perfect Tahoe day to celebrate the marriage of Matt and Madison! M & M first contacted me in January 2020 about their April 2021 wedding…and I bet you can guess how that went. 2020 turned into 2021 that turned into 2022. They both wanted a celebration surrounded by their closest friends and family…and a big ol’ dance party. They would have to wait. During this time they were living in Reno where they had first met at…

  • Collin graduates from Vista del Lago in Folsom this May and then he is headed to Grand Canyon University in Arizona to study Physical Therapy this fall. I photographed his brother Ethan a couple years back who is also at Grand Canyon U. Collin played soccer for Vista del Lago for all four of his high school years, and quite successfully I might add. His senior team won the San-Joaquin Section Title and Collin was awarded “All-League Player” and also Most Valuable Offensive player for his team. His parents said they had a blast watching him play. I bet- I…

  • Scott and Christina married at Serrano Country Club on April 9, 2022- and the next morning I left for Scotland- which is why I’m getting these up a little later than usual. Talk about a chill bride, Christina was all that and more. They chose Serrano Country Club due in part to the proximity to their home but also, the crew at Serrano always host such an elegant affair. The ceremony was outside down by the big oak tree on the edge of the green and Christina arrived in a beautiful Rolls Royce to Scott who was waiting to see…

  • March 19 was one of those early spring days in northern California where you knew rain was in the forecast, you just didn’t when it was going to start and for how long. According to Harrison, it didn’t make a bit of difference to him, he was marrying Sarah, the love of his life. Indoor, outdoor…let’s just do it! Having been a bride with the experience of a full-on downpour on our mostly outdoor wedding, I’m empathetic to this and am able to help keep my couples focused on what is most important if needed. “Wet bride, lucky bride”,  “A…
