Michele and Michael’s nuptuals took place in a beautiful private residence in Somerset, CA. The home belongs to Rick and Janice Wickham, who were Michele’s parents growing up through kinship care. They occasionally host weddings on the grounds for friends and family and I had actually shot a wedding there several years before for Miranda and Brian, which is how Michele and Michael came to know me.
So many lovely touches to this wedding too. Michael’s father created a wooden “Happily Ever After” sign that hung near the ceremony site. The couple also participated in a tree-planting ceremony, blending earth from the back yards of Michele and Michael’s families as well as the Wickhams. It was a really thoughtful and lasting way to celebrate the joining of families. The day wasn’t lacking humor either. The groomsmen all wore superhero-themed socks under their pants and, hidden under her 50’s-inspired dress, Michele was sporting Superman panties. I never did ask why superheros, so I’ll let you use your imagination, but it was a fun touch nevertheless.
When Michele and Michael really blossomed, however, was during the reception, dancing to their live band, the Nibblers. Michael lit up grabbing the hands of friends and family and pulling them enthusiastically onto the dance floor to celebrate with him and his new bride. I love dancing and live music myself, so one of my favorite moments of the night was watching Michele and Michael dance while experimenting with capturing their animated expressions and some beautiful twilight.
Michele and Michael were so sweet with each other and obviously smitten. I hope they enjoyed their tropical honeymoon to Belize and wish them all the best as they embark upon this next chapter in their life.

You have captured moments of the day beautifully !
I cannot wait to see them all –
My heart melted to see the pictures and they brought the day alive once again !
The people seem alive and you can see the love, joy and happiness !!
No words to say . . .
Thank you
