I met Megan and Brandon in Apple Hill in the fall of 2016 at their engagement session in the apple tree fields at Larsen’s Apple Barn. The colors at that time of year in that field are glorious in the late afternoon light but it was the relationship between these two that really shined through. I guess, as we’ve come to joke about over the years, they were “interviewing me” to photograph their upcoming wedding at David Girard Vineyards in Placerville. I think this was smart as your photographer is with you all day long at your wedding and it’s important that a couple not only likes you but that they they love your work. Meg and Brandon knew that you don’t get to do important milestones like weddings, nor the photography, over again.
Fast forward a few years and a gorgeous vineyard wedding, Megan and Brandon are now expecting their first child, a boy, also named Brandon this February. I was so excited when Meg contacted me for a maternity session as well as an upcoming newborn session at their home in the Bay Area. We had to play around with December dates due to both our schedules being pretty busy as well as around the weather which is predictably cold and rainy, but finally decided on beautiful but BRISK day- two days earlier.
I love that these two are willing to tromp around in the woods, and rocks and around the lake to make some beautiful photographs. I guess they knew what to expect given our other sessions:). They are adventurous and so kind and I love working with them. It was a cold evening though and Brandon was so sweet with Meg, helping, guiding, getting her coat on, keeping her warm, etc. We laughed alot and I got to capture all the love they have for each other and this new life they are bringing into the world. Baby Brandon is one lucky kid as I just know that Meg and Brandon are going to be amazing, warm and loving parents. I can’t wait to meet the big B this February.
Here are some of my favs from their maternity session in and around Sly Park Lake in Pollock Pines as well as links to their E-session and wedding. Check out the sunset at the end!
