While my photography is always about capturing emotion, something true and personal about my subject, it is also about the artistry of light. This is never truer than during sunset sessions, like this one with Senior, Kyle, at Alder Creek Tract. The light is so perfect during that hour or so before the sun goes down and it’s so fun to walk through these gorgeous settings getting to know my clients while eyeing the scenery for the most dramatic backdrop.
Kyle is the son of a family I got to photograph a few years ago and he is graduating from El Dorado High this spring. After graduating he is traveling to Europe for a couple of weeks (so jealous) before heading off to either Arizona or Wyoming for college. Kyle is leaning toward Arizona and, because it’s closer, I’m going to guess mom is too!
As I try to for all my senior sessions, I managed to get mom in a few of the shots. Graduation is such a big milestone for the whole family but nobody is more emotional about the upcoming changes as mom (especially with Kyle moving away for college). Those last few hugs while Kyle is still living at home, captured on camera, are something she will cherish for many years to come. Wishing you fantastic travels Kyle!
