Katrina and Joe were married recently at the beautiful Apple Mountain Golf Resort in Camino, CA and on one of the hottest days of the year so far; when the temperatures hit 106 in the foothills, you know you’re in the middle of a heat-wave!
We began our day getting ready at the Cary Hotel on Main Street in Placerville, where it was fun (and cool… literally) to incorporate some indoor shots of downtown and the historic hotel. I just love the dramatic light in the portraits of both Katrina and Joe sitting on the sofa there. Then we moved on to Apple Mountain where we were able to take advantage of a beautiful field of daisies and some soft light filtered through the trees as a setting for many of the photographs of the bridal party.
This was a beautiful wedding, both in setting as well as atmosphere, as I witnessed the merging together of two families: Katrina’s son, Jordan, and Joe’s ten-year-old daughter, Shayla, who were both in the wedding party. Many smiles, much laughter, and lots of love = happy photographer.
As always, no event is complete without the details supplied by many of the wonderful vendors my couples choose and that I have the privilege to work with so often. Katrina’s beautiful flowers were crafted by my good friend, Dottie, from the Camino Flower Shop, and she was pampered with hair and make-up by Callie Smith of Waterfall Salon and Day Spa. Their cake was created by D’Agostini Delights, and everyone enjoyed live music by Crystal Image.
My personal thanks go to my assistant, Ashlynn, who bared the heat with a smile on her face.

Lisa, the pictures are absolutely beautiful. I am extra fond of the meadow shots. Your creativity comes through in each picture to tell the story of what was a very happy day for our families. Your photos will help us remember this very special day filled with laughter and love. I can’t wait to see more!
Thank you and kindest regards,
Lori Branson
