Kalene and Joey tied the knot on October 6 in at Black Creek Center in Copperopolis, surrounded by family and friends.Joey’s family is local to Copperopolis. Having known the Bartolo family for over 16 years, I was so honored when Kalene asked me to photograph their big day. In fact, Kalene and both of her sisters, Samantha and Jacqueline, used to babysit our kids a long time ago. Time keeps pushing on…and now Miss Kalene, outgoing with the beautiful smile, is married. That’s crazy! Joey is a bit more shy and reserved than Kalene but when I got him out of the spotlight, I could see their connection to each other emerge. Two beautiful smiles.
It was an amazingly warm October day decked out in the incredible colors of fall- reds, yellows and oranges. The celebration included a blindfolded prayer with immediate family members, a gorgeous outdoor ceremony, a cute flower girl, some bride and groom photo fun in the late afternoon light and a reception complete with a taco bar, a lovely wedding cake made by Kalene’s grandmother, Jo, and some beautiful first dance moments.
Michelle Carter was my second photographer for the day and some of the images she captured out in the late afternoon light are just so lovely. I love her work.
Congratulations to Kalene and Joey and to the whole Bartolo/Storey crew. I created you a VERY BIG blog post, actually, let’s call it a “blog storey” as I knew you couldn’t wait to see some of your wedding memories as much as I couldn’t wait to share them with you both. Cheers- nothing but love for you all!
