2/22/22- Twosday.
In some cultures, palindrome days are considered lucky. Perhaps, it is the beauty of symmetry that such dates have to offer, or it somehow signifies some kismet connection, but many couples choose palindromes as dates to tie the knot just like Hannah and Anthony did.
I felt like it was a lucky day too, despite the numerous hours on the highway in a snowstorm, in order to make sure I was there early. Hannah and Anthony had a small wedding at a wine bar and coffee shop in South Lake Tahoe called Revive. Only their closest family and friends were there. And, one of my very favorite South Lake spots to photograph in was just a minute or two down the road so that’s where we started. It seemed that I was able to impress upon Hannah in advance to wear long underwear and boots and bring a warm coat but somehow Anthony did not get the memo and he showed up in his dress shoes. He rolled with it…he had his eye on his bride. These two were ALL about it- hesitant perhaps at first and then they dove in perhaps realizing how lucky they were for such a memorable, gorgeous Lake Tahoe day to celebrate the first day of their marriage.
I enjoyed the adventure even though we were only together for just over three hours from start to finish. In fact, the commute from Pollock Pines was longer. Nonetheless, this day kept me smiling. I also had my daughter and assistant, Ember to keep me company for the stormy drive home.
