Giang and David got married at the Sainte Claire Hotel in San Jose. I spend alot of time shooting weddings at wineries, forested locations, and farms that I found the urban landscape of San Jose to be quite refreshing! Lots of compositional lines! Thanks to Jillian Kay for second shooting with me and to Cassie for assisting(and shooting a little too!) Having them both there to depend upon allowed me alot of mental freedom during a very busy day 🙂
The wedding ceremony was a mix between American and traditional Vietnamese. A unique and beautiful part of the ceremony included an offering of tea to Giang’s parents where David spoke directly to them and thanked them for their daughter as well as a wine offering to David’s parents where Giang, (through her tears of gratitude) thanked them for their son. I must admit I got a little choked up watching her get choked up! Giang wore a Vietnamese dress for the ceremony that was custom made for her, as are all Vietnamese formal dresses, and it was beaded from head to toe.. the weight of the dress was surprisingly heavy! She wore a white dress for the reception. David was calm and easy going and clearly enjoying the day and their union. Both families were about as kind as they come. Special thanks to David’s family for having me join them at their table during the (vietnamese)rehearsal dinner. We all had alot of fun guessing what we were eating. Many thanks to you both for trusting me and allowing me full creative freedom to capture your day. Now, an “offering” to you…. the rest of your proofs will be up in a couple weeks!
