Finn’s mom called me after seeing the Jones’ photographs over at Lava Cap. Her son, Finn would graduate this year and she wanted to also get a few with her older son Taven in them before he left for school again in Montana. When I arrived at Lava Cap for the shoot, Finn was wearing a Grateful Dead shirt and was very surprised that I knew the song that his shirt promoted, “Till the Morning Comes”. I told him that I had been to something like 120 Dead shows, back in the day. I knew we were going to have fun, of course, it does take a little while sometimes to work into a comfortability and rhythm with any shoot. Finn was great and after about 15 minutes, he “got it” and I was able to get expressions from him that I felt were natural for him. Finn is a free spirit and has great blue eyes, a fun smile and crazy hair- all very interesting to photograph. When I was putting together his slideshow, I knew I was going to use a Dead song but looked around a bit for the perfect one. I came upon “Cassidy” and I knew when the lyric, “Fare thee well now, let your life proceed by its own design” came on, that I had found it- it was perfect for a graduating senior! Taven watched on( sort of happy that he was not in the spot light), but then joined in so that their parents could have some photographs of the two of them. Enjoy the slideshow and this blog post- all your proofs will be up shortly.

As I dab away at moist eyes, I try to find the words to say how beautiful these photos are – you are a master, Lisa! Could not be more pleased with the images and will have to have Noreen look at them. Have lavished her with thanks and now lavish you with gratitude, also… -terry
