Ellee + Jonathan’s Sequoia Mansion Wedding

Ellee and Jonathan – what a couple!  This was not our first wedding with a full-scale Jenga set, but it definitely was the first where the Jenga did double-duty as a guest book!  It was so cool to see how these two incorporated their love of games and good times into their wedding, giving their guests an opportunity to leave a lasting memory on each of the wooden blocks.  But the individual touches didn’t stop there: hand-wrapped car cans with sentimental sayings hung in the lounge, a birch tree bedecked with Marvel Comic heroes directed guests to their seats in the ball room, and each place setting was sweetened by a darling s’mores gift set.  Ellee and Jonathan certainly know how to throw a great party.  They just might have to renew their vows on a regular basis!

Jonathan proposed to Ellee at a lakeside family vacation just before he moved to Georgia for work.  Though the commute must have been tough, Jonathan is looking forward to moving Ellee out to Georgia right after the wedding.  With so much in common (cross-fit, Spartan races, world travel, late night Target and IKEA runs, corgis!), it was definitely destiny that Ellee and Jonathan should meet.  Surrounded by their loving friends and family, they got married at Wedgewood Sequoia Mansion on a sunny January afternoon – the weather itself a small miracle, given all the rain northern California has received this winter.  If that isn’t a great omen for a marriage filled with sunshine and smiles, we’re not sure what is!

Family is very important to this couple, and it showed on their wedding day. Ellee’s brother played acoustic guitar for the processional and the groom’s brothers participated fully in keeping the groom party very active, and VERY fun.  We had such a blast kidding around with all of them! Ellee and Jonathan’s wedding was our first of the 2017 season and definitely set the tone for a year filled with happy, hilarious, beautiful, touching, unique, and wonderful moments.  We were so honored to be a part of their special day, and wish them a lifetime of health, happiness, and (because you know, cross-fit) heavy lifting!
