Gorgeous little Devan was just eight days old when I photographed him recently, still with his umbilical cord in his belly button and flaky newborn skin on his feet. His chubby cheeks made me want to smooch him for the entire session!
Kim and Sean, his adoring parents, purchased my baby package after previously working with me to capture their engagement and wedding last year. In fact, if you follow my blog regularly, you may recall their fantastically fun engagement session paddle boarding on Donner Lake. These two love the outdoors and always seem to be busy, now, especially, with Devan in their lives.
As with all newborn sessions, we spent a good few hours together, working on Devan’s schedule to capture the small details of his new life that every parent wants indelibly imprinted in their mind. I just love the newborn skin on his feet and the way he clutches his mother’s shoulder in sleep. Sigh… And, of course, the fun photo including dad’s racing ski is an ode to mom and dad’s first water session with me. What a great way to come full circle!
We’ll see more of Devan and his parents soon as we continue to keep-up with his developments through the baby package. Stay tuned!
