Derek is a good friend of a good friend of mine, Ross, and he got in touch with me recently to capture some head shots. Although this hasn’t been something I have done a lot of in the past, I love to see how my style translates to new session types and so jumped at the chance.
Fortunately, in addition to being a programmer, Derek is also a photographer, which meant he knew exactly what he wanted to capture and where, scouting out Folsom Lake College as the location for our session. It was a great choice and I loved the variety of different backdrops that it gave us to work with. Derek also had an easy smile and a genuine presence, which made it easy for me to capture some natural but professional shots of him.
As it turns out, I really enjoyed the process of blending my style into something more business-like and the creative neurons that got firing for me. I’d love to work with some other local professionals who are looking to present themselves with style and through some unique images that show their professionalism.
