Diane and Brian are beginning the process of adopting a child and called me to schedule a session that would express who they are as a couple to potential birth mothers and fathers.  Like many of my clients, they found me through referral, this time via a Facebook friend and wedding client. Another beautiful Sly-Park Lake session, this time to celebrate the engagement of Amber and Aric. I shot Amber’s brother’s wedding back in 2009 and was excited to get the call from Amber to photograph her marriage to Aric, which will be held in September at the Serrano Country Club. One of the very many special privileges as a photographer is the opportunity to capture a family as it grows. Getting a family of five together in one place as children head into their teens – and beyond – can be a tough task. It can be even harder to get that dedicated, relaxed family time without the stress and distractions of daily life. Which is why it was a privilege to be able to capture the Butler family at-play and just enjoying one another’s company recently at Sly Park Lake. I had another great evening at Sly Park lake enjoying the wonderful light during an engagement session with Bill and Stephanie. They have been together for four years and are counting down the days/minutes to their all-day celebration at Stephanie’s parents home in Placerville. Bill and Stephanie are fun and fun with each other. Stephanie is super easy going and a natural beauty. It was so wonderful to get out one late afternoon with the Mulholland family and capture some new memories in the daisy field at the end of the lake. I’ve known the McVey Family pretty much since I moved to Pollock Pines in 2000. I remember Sue being over at my house with her kids who were maybe 4 and 6 at the time and me being amazed that children could actually play together, clean up after themselves and take instructions.
