A-SESSION LOCATIONS- Mountains

  • First of all I have to applaud Kim on her clothing choices for the family….I’m going to start having to give people her number if they want coordinating tips – in fact, I may call her to help out our family this year! Sly Park Lake made for a beautiful backdrop for these guys and was a nice change in location from Apple Hill. I’ve been working with The Eggertons since Reid was baby (and Captain Bubbles…but I digress), and I always love the energy they have as a family. I had a lot of fun trying to ‘capture the…

  • Jeff and Danielle are wonderful. They arrived at my doorstep with a thoughtful gift of a bottle of Zin-a shared favorite among us.  We took off to Lake Tahoe for their engagement session and with the help of my new friend Jaime from Rose Street we embarked upon a super cool place to shoot our session. Jeff admitted that the “purple” shirt was little out of his comfort zone but was fine with giving it a shot:)(or two or three…) These two are in love and so comfortable with each other. For me, it is so much fun to shoot…

  • John & Elisha are getting married on July 10, 2010 at the beautiful Fausel Ranch in Placerville, CA. They were referred to me from Gretchen & Matt‘s wedding last August at Fausel last year (apparently they have a groomsman in common). John and Elisha make each other laugh and truly have a zest for enjoying life. John brought along his 13 year old daughter Maddie as well as Trixie, their Pitbull/Boxer mix dog! Trixie and Maddie were fun additions to the shoot not only because of the dogs inate ability to make everyone laugh and feel relaxed but also because…

  • Ah yes Sierra at Tahoe…Days like this, you sit back, take a deep breath of fresh air and exclaim, “I love my job”! I can usually do these Sierra shoots without an assistant, mostly because the blanket of snow is an amazingly efficient photographic reflector. This time however, my husband Jeff joined us to help carry my gear- my own personal(and cute) sherpa! (I think even HE loved my job that day :))  Late February I injured my shoulder in a ski accident and have been rehabilitating it ever since. I thought it was smart not to totally push it…

  • Courtney and Josh are total opposites they say – and it seemed to be a bit true. Courtney is really out going and loves the camera while on the other hand Josh is a bit more reserved and probably couldn’t care less about the camera. 🙂 He was wondering why he was both dressed up AND down at the river…Courtney of course assured him that it was a perfect plan. These two were fun and playful to photograph and clearly in love. Their wedding is in January of 2011. Thanks to Jen and Jeff for the great referral! Here is…

  • Spring weather and the arrival of daylight savings time means to me that my season is again beginning. After a couple months of mostly working on my new website(to be released soon-yippee), wedding albums from 2009, well, and a little skiing too, it felt great to be back in the saddle and shooting again. What better place than the beautiful Sand Harbor in Lake Tahoe to meet John and Mandi for the first time. John was a gazelle as he jumped from rock to rock and Mandi was certain to not be outdone in her skirt and boots…and she wasn’t!…

  • Janine used to teach yoga at the same place I taught a dance aerobics class. Just saying that brings me way back. We all had little kids/infants that we brought to class and had babysitting available for all the moms who wanted to work out while both trying to shed a few pounds and carve out a little personal time. It was a fine time- lots of camaraderie – with new moms sharing the trials and tribulations of parenting, while more experienced moms shared their own experiences. Yes, we all felt lucky to have this. The thing I loved about…

  • Chris & Karissa were such a fun couple to shoot – so natural with each other. They were playful, funny, comfortable and “awkward”.. which is a good thing for Chris.. according to Karissa. (haha!) They “met” at a bar while hanging out with mutual friends in Tahoe during 4th of July weekend a few years ago. Chris was too shy to ‘put the moves’ on Karissa that night, but later he found her on Myspace and they started to talk. He invited Karissa to Hot August Nights in Reno a couple months later and I asked “So was it a…

  • Bassi Falls is such a great place. My kids love it! When the water fall is really flowing there are tons of little pools to swim in and explore. Plus, it is only a 15 minute hike(about 25-30 with the kids), so very do-able for young ones! Last Monday, we all headed out to spend some time enjoying this beautiful part of the country we live in. (Glad we finally found it- LOL) Sean and Sara have been dating for ten years…”altogether”. You can tell by the way they are with each other that they know each other really well…and…
