Seniors

  • My friend Kelly and I have been talking about her daughter, Whitney’s, senior pictures for a while now and with spring in full bloom, it seemed like the perfect time.  Whitney is looking forward to starting college at Folsom Lake in the fall and then continuing on to a nursing program. We had a fun time wandering around Boeger Winery in the late afternoon light, and she even brought her friend Ashley along “to keep it real”. When I asked her if she had a boyfriend in order to elicit an expression, she made one up and came up with the…

  • Jane is getting ready to head to Berkeley in the fall, and her parents wanted to make sure that not only did we capture some memories of their daughter at this important time in her life, but also some photographs of her at her piano. I really enjoy incorporating activities that are important to a senior into their session. Jane has been playing for years and it has truly become a passion for her. A few years ago I photographed her brother, Karl as he was heading off to college and I am so glad they asked me back to…

  • One of my favorite images is of a high school senior playing a drum(djembe) out in a field at sunset, long hair-a-flying! This was Megan’s brother Travis a few years back. Fast forward to Megan- what a beauty! Megan will graduate soon from El Dorado High, and very much looking forward to heading off to UC Santa Cruz in the fall. I’m a bit jealous of the fact that she is going to be spending a month after she graduates just traveling around Europe as I love to see (and photograph) new things…just call me if you need your own…

  • I was so happy when Judy called me up and asked me if I would take her daughter’s senior photographs. Judy and I have worked together a bunch over the last several years as she is the wedding coordinator at David Girard Vineyards. Judy and the staff at DGV are fun and fabulous to work with if you have a wedding in your future! I was truly honored that she asked me to do this for her. Judy told me that I would enjoy Lainey and she was right. A snowboarder, Lainey seemed happy to go along for the ride.…

  • You have to be careful when you live in Pollock Pines, and spring hits and you still leave the house wearing fleece and long sleeves. Don’t go down the hill dressed like that- you will burn up. Even in Camino at the Apple Mountain Golf Course it was very warm when I met Hayden for his senior shoot. I hadn’t seen Hayden since his family had family photographs a couple years ago and I didn’t even recognize him. A lot can change in a couple years which is why I am so often reminded how important it is to capture…

  • Anna and I met Macy and her mom and sister down at Boeger. Coming down from Pollock Pines, it’s amazing to me that it is still fall “down the hill”. Being from even further down the hill, they wanted an Apple Hill backdrop. Macy, a natural beauty with those ever changing blue/ green eyes was fun to shoot. Her mom wanted to get a few with her sister too so I photographed a few individuals while Macy was changing outfits. It’s always fun to photograph sisters. Congrats Macy on your upcoming graduation.

  • As I sit here at a friends home in Camino, using their power and internet connection, it is hard to believe that just last week was lovely fall weather. Kristina and her mother met me at Boeger for Kristina’s senior photograph shoot. Looking back, it was one of the last days of fall. I’m glad we got out when we did! Enjoy your blog teaser and slideshow, all of your proofs will be up soon! Here is your slideshow!

  • If you’ve had the chance to work with me in the past two years then you probably remember my former assistant, Cassie. Meet Miranda, Cassie’s younger sister. I took Cassie’s senior portraits a few years back, and then their brother Zac’s a year or so before that and now it was Miranda’s turn.  We met at Boeger Winery right before the sun started to go down. I took advantage of the fact that I worked with her sister and asked Miranda how she and her sister are different. Her first response was “I’m smarter” which just cracked me up- gotta…

  • It was a beautiful day at Boeger Winery when we met up with Andrew for his senior session. Andrew is a guitar player, and brought his guitar along for the shoot.  Not only did it serve as a great prop throughout the shoot, but it made for a fantastic atmosphere to work in – the rolling hills of the vineyard, beautiful evening light, and gentle music played by Andrew himself – not a bad way to enjoy sunset, I’d say! My “past life” included about 15 years as both a live and recording studio engineer and I have great affection…
