  • It was about a week before Christmas and I had just purchased a brand-spanking-new Nikon camera and had a big family session planned for the weekend. I wanted to test my new baby in a portrait setting so late one night I reached out to a couple friends to see if they were free the next afternoon and the lovely Miss Macy was. We squeezed her images in after school and before dance in about 30-45 minutes – such is the life of a busy middle schooler! The best part? Macy got to surprise her mom and dad with a couple 8×10’s…

  • One would think that simply getting your once West Coast, now mostly East Coast, family together for a holiday in Lake Tahoe would be enough reason to celebrate and capture family photographs, the Blair family squeezed so much more in. When Rebekah, their oldest daughter contacted me months ago with an holiday gift idea for her mom(and my old friend), I was all in. I knew Ruthie back when my kids were young and it really seems like forever ago. As I remember (and that can be tougher these days), she was the mom who always made it all look…

  • The Gray Family. There are many kind people in this town that I have called home for over 17 years, and the Gray family definitely comes in at the top of that list. Melinda is a dear (forever) friend and her heart explodes with endless energy and compassion for others. She’s always there for you, and for anyone, really. I’m not sure how she squeezes in all the life she does, into her own, but she does. She’s an amazingly beautiful friend, inside, outside and all around. Lance and Melinda are raising equally amazing kids and I’ve known Jack, Catie,…

  • Jessica and Peter, together with their son Oliver, exchanged their vows on a hillside amongst the chardonnay vines at Windwalker Vineyards in Fairplay. Supported by Jessi’s sister, Sarah and Peter’s sister, Ashley, they expressed their deep love for each other and for their future with their little family. You can tell, by the way they look at each other and further by the way they supported each other throughout the day both as bride and groom and as parents of their son, Oliver, their vows were simply just a validation of a connection that had long been solidified. Jessi started…

  • I first met Megan and Brandon in October of 2016 in Apple Hill. They wanted a beautiful fall engagement session complete with wine sipping among the apple trees and a chance for us to get to know each other better. A few frames in, I realized I was in for a treat. Comfortable with themselves, comfortable in their relationship and as we discovered that day, comfortable with me too, topped with a glorious fall day, we exchanged stories as I captured their love in the beautiful colors of autumn in the foothills of the Sierra Nevadas. Their love story started…

  • Kristin and Derek married on a beautiful September day, not far from where they call home, at the gorgeous Mettler Family Vineyards in Lodi. Earlier this year, Kristin made my day when she contacted me asking when “I” was available to photograph her marriage to Derek. They were checking my schedule before they booked their venue. I’m lucky to be a photographer but even more lucky to have appreciating clients like her. Such an honor. Having captured the weddings of both her sisters, Courtney and Erin, I was excited to get to tell the story of the final Zgraggen wedding celebration.…

  • The Flower Farm Inn is simply one of my most favorite locations to work at. Not to overshadow their impeccable grounds that provide so many amazing backdrops for wedding photography, the staff is first rate; always helpful, always service oriented and always recognizing that this is a BIG day for their couples and they are pro-active to make it the best they can for each couple, while also staying in the background. It’s like this each and every time I photograph at the Flower Farm. That said, Erin and Cameron, high school sweethearts, “take the cake” on being such gracious…

  • When I first met Jennifer and Tim it was winter and we were trekking through three feet of snow along the south side of Jenkinson Lake, chasing the light during their engagement session.  I wasn’t worried about them at all, as they are both runners and into outdoor activities. Adventurous and active couples are my favorite. David Girard Vineyards is a wonderful location to get married; winding roads, sun-splashed vineyards, and 360 degree views with an amazing west facing landscape. Jen and Tim are wine lovers too. When we arrived, Camino Flower Shop and Cocomont were creating their magic along…
