  • It’s not always “hitting the ground running” with a session, especially with toddlers and a timeframe. While this one started off a bit shaky, we were able to find a rhythm with Miss Madelynn and capture some lovely images. While I’m certain Mandy and Tom, whom I photographed their gorgeous spring wedding in the exact same location in 2019, were wishing they didn’t have an upset little one. They stayed calm and patient and we all worked to refocus energies. I pulled out every trick I knew and ultimately I got to capture that sweet, curious, toddler with the adorable…

  • The light streaming into their new home was to die for not to mention a beautiful and sunny day after so much rain. Nervous like many clients, exclaiming that they didn’t know what to do in front of the camera, they quickly sorted out that playing and loving on Ella and each other was a natural way to get started. It was easy for them and sometimes just announcing your nervousness is the best thing.

  • Guest Blogger and Photography Assistant: Ember Soleil Leddy Krysta, Justin, and Kai moved into our neighborhood last spring, and I hit it off with them immediately. They’re such kind people. I regularly go over to babysit Kai, and they’ve always shown great interest in my life. From inviting me over to have dinner often, to throwing me a birthday party (complete with a homemade cake from Krysta), their house has begun to feel like a home to me as well. That’s because of the warmth they show those around them. I remember when I came over one day to watch…

  • Lindey and Adam got engaged a few months ago at Razor Point on the Torrey Pines Trail in Southern California. While they are excited about planning their future wedding, they are currently focusing their energies on buying their first home together which as we all know in Northern California, isn’t a walk in the park. At least they got to enjoy this one.

  • It’s a lot of memories you leave behind when you decide to move from the property you have lived on since 2010. And for Smokey, it goes back to way before that to his high school years and living with his parents on the same property. In 2014 Brooke and Smokey built their own place on the property as they welcomed their new daughter, Wren into their family of only fur babies and rafting paddles. And even though his nickname is Smokey, the stagnant wind of the “fire-full” fall in El Dorado county makes it challenging to breathe. So, even…

  • On my recent trip to Chatham Hall to photograph graduation this year, I met up with Jolie and her beloved horse, Beau for a photo session before the graduation festivities began. – You see, Jolie was graduating from high school and her first horse Beau, was going to stay at Chatham Hall for others to learn to ride. What sweeties…both of them. I’ll have to visit Beau next year at graduation to see how his year was. – Best of luck on your new adventures, Jolie and Beau. – Best of luck to you, Jolie (and Beau) in your new…

  • I love the process of meeting new families and getting the opportunity to capture something real with my camera. It usually takes a little to get everyone warmed up though it makes me smile when I see it happen. Those little moments where smiles are natural, makes me smile. Sure we had help from a couple cute family doggies who are incredibly loved as well as a curious, local crow. Many thanks to Sharlene and the Kasadate family for coming up to Pollock Pines for photographs. The rest of your gallery will be ready soon.

  • What a lucky boy you are to have the parents you have. I’ve known Meg and Brandon since their engagement in 2016 and I’m always honored when my wedding couples reach out to me to continue capturing their life milestones, these two in particular. This continuum allows us to easily jump back in where we left off. Meg and Brandon’s love and connection is so clear that it simply feels good on my soul to see it, feel it and to capture it. The best part of life is the love we share and the connections we make along the…
