Life

  •     Hello Friends, August 10, 2013 marked the one year anniversary of my father’s passing. I’ve been warned that “the milestones are the toughest,” and ain’t that the truth. Just a week ago, our family and friends set sail from San Diego Bay aboard “Adventuress”, a 60 foot catamaran, to celebrate my dad’s life.  This post was created to share with our many family and friends who also miss my father – some of whom were there but many more were unable to join us. Please feel free to leave any comments, words or stories below as it is in…

  • This is one of those posts that is going to elicit a chorus of “Awwww!” from everyone who visits it. The rosebud lips, the chubby arms, the strand of pearls, the HUGE smile… How can you not swoon? This little girl is a DOLL!. I have known mom and dad, John and Elisha, for 4 years now. Just 3 years ago, they were married at this same location: the beautiful Fausel Ranch. (Take a peek at their gorgeous wedding here and notice how they don’t look ANY different. Could have been yesterday.) So, it seemed fitting that we return to Fausel…

  • As a photographer, I spend much of my time capturing young families and early family milestones: from Brides and Grooms, to pregnancies and births and those exciting years as children grow. All too often, however, families stop seriously documenting once their children are grown. Yet, every now and again, something comes along that makes you realize the importance of this moment, your family as it is right now, in all its generations of experience and love and legacy … For me, that moment was when my father was diagnosed with a serious illness. Right away, the photographer in me wanted…

  • Yesterday, about 30 minutes before I was to leave for a wedding at Wedgewood Sequoia- I get a call from a VERY upset bride. She seemed inconsolable. You see, her hair and make up person botched the job, left to go out to her car, said she was going to be back, never came back and took my brides money. This was about 3 hours before her ceremony was to start. After assuring and reassuring her that all was going to be ok-I’d make it work in any way I could, I got on the phone with Kristina at Waterfall…

  • I have always wanted to write a blog, but I always feared I didn’t have enough interesting tidbits to make it a worthwhile read.  I often struggle to even come up with insightful Facebook statuses, so when Lisa asked me to guest blog about an article she shared, I was so excited to give it a try! This post is being written not from the admiring perspective of Lisa’s office assistant who constantly gets to work with the beautiful images that you, her clients, have entrusted her to capture. (Although that is the part of the job I LOVE!)  Today…

  • I’ve known Tom and Bethany since 2008 when we got together to do their pre wedding engagement session. We’ve been friends since and I was so happy to receive the call once Bethany’s pregnancy was official, that they wanted me to join them for the birth. Baby Graydon wasn’t expected to arrive until the end of August and as I tell my clients, I cannot schedule births in just the way they can’t schedule births. If I can be there I will be there. And it’s always such a joy to get the call that it is happening and that…

  • I’ve known Mark and Barbara for quite some time now- from back in my bay area music days! In fact his good friends brother is married to my best friend’s, husband’s sister. Good luck following that! It was great to get out to their family reunion for a quick one hour, Lake Tahoe dock shoot. Here is the Jeffery Family- a moment in time….Enjoy! Your complete gallery will be up in a few days.

  • I have been so lucky to have had amazing assistants over the years.  Anna, my assistant of two years is beginning a new adventure in South Carolina,  and I am excited to begin my own, new adventure with three wonderful ladies to help me out.  Let me introduce Rita, Amy and Jerri!    I am so excited to have Rita as my new office manager. If you know Rita, you love Rita and know just how kind and helpful (and smart) she is! I’m really looking forward to working with her! Name? Rita Sign? Cancer Dream car?  A Lexus RX…

  • Thank you to Michelle McDaid for capturing these images of Anna and I photographing the rings at a recent wedding- setting up these shots was only one of Anna’s specialties.    ____________________________________________________________________________ wing·man/ˈwiNGˌmən/ Noun: a pilot who supports another in a potentially dangerous flying environment. Wingman was originally a term referring to the plane flying beside and slightly behind the lead plane in an aircraft formation. The wingman’s role is to add an element of mutual support to aerial combat. The presence of a wingman makes the flight both offensively and defensively more capable by increasing firepower and situational awareness,…
