Guest Blogger and Photography Assistant: Ember Soleil Leddy Krysta, Justin, and Kai moved into our neighborhood last spring, and I hit it off with them immediately. They’re such kind people. I regularly go over to babysit Kai, and they’ve always shown great interest in my life. Upon arriving at Heavenly a little early, I met a new friend Gary who saw me trying to make sense of the ski run map. He had been skiing at Heavenly for decades and was gracious enough to offer to give me a tour of some primo locations for photographs.

Where does the time go? I’ll say it again. Another annual session with the Anderson Family, this time in downtown Folsom over the holidays. It seems perfect that this was my last session of the year.

When someone says, “What do you do for a living?” one might think that “Photography” would be my answer but lately, with all these seasonal family sessions I think more appropriately, “chasing kids” would be more descrip. Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m not alone in my chase, my assistant Ember, who kids love, works pretty hard on these sessions and certainly, mom and dad, too.   Recently I got together with the Rogers’ Family at Larsen’s Apple Barn Park in Camino. Michelle had suggested that most of her photos of her children were blurry as they were constantly in motion…and they are. She was hoping I’d have better luck capturing them. Capture them? Impossible… they WERE always in motion. While Michelle and Scott did some wrangling, I did enjoy creating some images that documented their family during these years.  I remember how busy these times were with my own two kids. Granted, it was a busy hour working to capture everyone but this family was the best. They were all so kind, cooperative, and easy-going, even the littlest ones- it made the hour go by fast! They have been coming to Apple Hill annually for years and decided to get some photographs taken for the holidays.
