  • Meet Hailey- She is graduating from El Dorado High this spring. When I suggested the river as a backdrop for her senior photos, she said “perfect”- I knew I would like her! Shooting with seniors is alot of fun for me- they are so open and willing to experiment and Hailey was no exception. As an artist, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t- but it is in the finding out that makes it all worth it. At one point I asked Hailey as I was working composing a shot, “What are you thinking about?” and in a perfect high…

  • Janine used to teach yoga at the same place I taught a dance aerobics class. Just saying that brings me way back. We all had little kids/infants that we brought to class and had babysitting available for all the moms who wanted to work out while both trying to shed a few pounds and carve out a little personal time. It was a fine time- lots of camaraderie – with new moms sharing the trials and tribulations of parenting, while more experienced moms shared their own experiences. Yes, we all felt lucky to have this. The thing I loved about…

  • Danielle and Will are new friends. My husband met Will mountain bike riding and Danielle is a close friend of one of my recent brides. Their daughter, Nora is a trooper. She is probably the easiest 20 month old that I have photographed in a long time. All smiles all the time- she is amazing! What a happy kid! We shot around Camino for about an hour and a half enjoying the apples and fall colors all around. Danielle is in law school and it was fun playing a role in getting her out of the house for some fresh…

  • October is a big month for the Child family and their offspring. Diane and John Child celebrate their 38th wedding anniversary this week. They have four children Justin, Vanessa, Amy and Emily. I think that they all also celebrate their wedding anniversaries in October. I was fortunate to meet this super fun and kind family while photographing both Emily and Amy’s weddings over the years. Diane and John now also have 4 grandchildren all between the ages of 1 and 2. Their kids purchased them an “extended family session” last Christmas for a gift. Diane loves the fall so we…

  • Jessica first contact me in 2006 to take photos of her new baby Ryan and sister Taylor. Advance 4 years, now Taylor is in 2nd grade and Ryan is in pre-school. Every year since 2006, I have gotten to photograph this family and watch them grow. We’ve played in their rooms, jumped on the master bed, brushed teeth on a stool reaching for the sink, hung in the kitchen in their new home and enjoyed a sunset together at Jenkinson Lake. This year we were up in Camino enjoying the fall weather. Can you tell that I liked the old…

  • Minda, Tyler & Banyan met me at Larsen’s Park in Camino for their family shoot. Banyan is 6 months old and such a cutey! It’s always fun and interesting when you are photographing babies and amazing how many towels just one shoot can require! He was so interested in the cars passing by, the wispy blades of wheat and his moms hair. Ah, to look at the world that wide eyed and fresh again…even if for a few moments:) Minda & Tyler enjoyed playing with their son and getting all of his silly expressions to come out for the camera.…

  • As you might have read in my previous blog about Tara & Tony, I shot their wedding in February 2007. Then this year in July, I photographed Tara’s belly with a little growing baby bean inside. Then on September 10th I went back to photograph the family with their new addition, Zoe! She was only 2 weeks old and is an absolute gem! I feel these images portray what having a newborn is really like… discovering, new, unknown, messy, instinctual, full-time, happy, exhausting, sleepy .. with little moments of peace mixed in. True Lifestyle Photography! I love you guys and…

  • Last year, on Jaz’s last day of kindergarden, I decided to pick her up after school and take her out for ice cream in order to celebrate the end of the school year. Little did I know that I was about to walk into what is one of the coolest(yeah.) Pinewood traditions ~ the summer send off by the teachers! Basically, the buses drive around the circle several times honking and honking their horns, while the kids wave out the window to their teachers who are cheering, and the parents who are weeping, both about another year gone by. The…

  • My little Ember bug graduated from pre-school. I can hardly believe that I now will have 2 school aged children at the same school! I asked Ember if she was a little scared about going to a new school and kindergarden and she said, “no I am ready!”…and she really is! Gotta love that “go get ’em” attitude! She is very excited to be at the same school as her big sister Jazzie! We will truly miss Pinetop Montessori which has been such a fantastic, safe and calm(and local) learning environment for her. The teachers there are fabulous and really…
