  • Ahhh, lil’ Miss Allison brought along her awesome butterfly guitar to use for the shoot, and she even played us a few chords for us. The fall colors of the vineyard looked beautiful with the yellow dress that her mother brought along for her. Love a little girl, full of life, personality and music! The Keller family was the winner of the photo session gift certificate I donated for the Boatman Family community fundraiser we had up here last month. Your entire gallery will be posted tomorrow!!

  • I’ve had the honor of photographing the preschoolers at Pinetop Montessori here in town for the past few years. It’s a job that despite the challenge of photographing 20 or so children 4 and under, I love doing. My good friend and photographer Kristi, has been a big help on these shoots, spending the morning going hoarse coaxing these cuties into laughter, craziness and sometimes contemplation. This year was no exception. This allows me the freedom to concentrate on capturing! Miss Dottie of Camino Flower Shop was kind enough to let us use a fence of hers, along with the…

  • I have a bunch of techniques that I use to get people to loosen up a bit and smile, but during this shoot Jeff, my husband, who was assisting me on this Tahoe shoot, utilized one that had honestly never crossed my mind before. Fortunately the camera was facing the direction of the clients or my white balance would have been really off….see if you can tell which image it is! I only instructed him to be witty and charming- I swear! We had a great family weekend with the Little’s getting away to Squaw- hiking, eating, tubbing and the…

  • I love that I get to witness families both start and grow as part of my job. I was happy to get the call from the Gustafson’s that they were ready for their family session. I had worked with Sara and Eric and their dogs a few years back, and was excited at the chance to meet their new little guy, Clayton, aka Mr. Smiley. Now, as Sara told me, she had a new camera but very few images of the three of them OR of her and their new son Clayton- THIS I understand as I have been documenting…

  • About one week after I had visited them in the hospital, I made my way over to Ross and Kristy’s home to photograph the new family after they’d settled back in. Everyone, including their dogs just couldn’t seem to get enough of little Nathan. Ross had the idea of measuring Nathan against his 300mm lens, and I love how Nathan just had to stick his foot out to show Dad just how much bigger he was than that silly lens. I think a 400mm (and perhaps a matching “birth” ring) might be in your futures. Congratulations again you guys, I…

  • I was so excited to get the text from Tony and Tara while I was on vacation that little Wyatt had arrived. I’ve worked with Tony and Tara several times over the years, starting with their engagement and wedding, then with their first pregnancy and year of life with daughter Zoe, and now their newest little one! Wyatt was so calm and peaceful the entire shoot, he seemed happy to just go along with whatever everyone else was doing. Big sister Zoe just couldn’t get enough of him, and stopped several times throughout the session to shower him with kisses.…

  • I’ve been photographing the Anderson family for close to a decade now, and I was excited to hear that with family visiting from out of state it was time for an extended family session. We all met up at Sly Park Lake and found a beautiful field of flowers to work in. The kids had a blast running around, sword fighting with sticks, and just being kids. I love connecting with clients each year for their annual family portraits, and being able to capture big family gatherings like this. Thanks to second shooter, Anna Vollmer!

  • Recently I got the opportunity to photograph a very special day for the Barba Family. Their twins Gwyn and Drew were being baptized on their first birthday with a big family and friends celebration to follow at the beautiful Van Der Vijver Estate Winery in Fairplay. And if that wasn’t enough Kate and Pete, their parents, were celebrating a 10th wedding anniversary with a Vow Renewal ceremony. It was a perfect California day complete with that gorgeous late afternoon sun, made all the warmer by the family and friends that surround and support them. We took 15 minutes after the…
