I met Mariah, Charlie and their son Wyatt over a year ago at a coffee shop in Camino. I really enjoyed them because they were real. I know that sounds trite but honesty and joy that shines through is so refreshing and so much fun to capture as a photographer. Getting out in the field, literally, with Emma was enjoyable for me. She came to me referred by some of her other really cool friends, so I knew I was in for a great session. My friends, Nate and Shelley are making it official on August 14 this year at the Sacramento Yacht Club. They will be surrounded by close friends and family and in fact, the cool thing is that their friends are my friends too! Lots of fun and a little bit of friendly competition! That’s how our session with Kristin and Jason was filled. They’ve been together for two years and clearly enjoy playing together on and off the courts. They live in Redondo Beach, where Jason has fun high-fiving people bicycling past. (He says he was practicing his “Calvin Klein look” for this shoot.) Jason works as a motion camera assistant. Kristen is a physical therapist. What a fantastically fun way to close out the year! My last wedding of 2013 was for Jill and Matthew, who were blessed with a beautiful blue-sky day at the Wedgewood Sequoia. As a photographer who loves to capture the emotional story of life’s milestones, you can’t get anything more significant or emotional than photographing a birth. From the effort of mom to bring her baby into the world, to the loving support of family, and capturing the first moments as baby meets it’s new world… it’s truly a magical time. Ahhh… Lexi and Perri. Two sisters, graduating high school seniors, and a beautiful yard to play in. I was one happy photographer! These girls were ridiculously photogenic and, coupled with fall colors, fun outfits and a swing, I found myself 1,000 photos into reviewing their session with barely an image nixed. And the best part was looking at each image and recalling not only how beautiful the shot was but what wonderful, warm, and grounded young women these were. Graydon is one year old and his light-up-a-room charm has only grown along with his little legs and chubby cheeks. You may remember this playful little fellow from the many other opportunities I have been lucky to capture his smile: birth | newborn | 4 months old | 8 months old I just love this family.
